Job description

Emergency Vehicle Installer (Experienced)

  • Responsibilities
    • Install emergency equipment into Public Safety Vehicles, including Law Enforcement, Fire, and EMS vehicles
    • May also install various types of equipment into Commercial types of vehicles
    • Includes working on new vehicles, and upgrading existing vehicles
    • Dis-assemble and reassembly of a diverse range of vehicle makes and models, including sedans, SUVs, motorcycles, ATV
    • Requires electrical wiring, connect electrical fittings, drill holes, soldering and perform all physical tasks associated with modifying vehicles for the acceptance of emergency-related equipment.
    • Examples of installation; light bars, flashers, sirens, radios, speakers, antennas, routers, video cameras, laptops, printers, consoles, transport partitions, K-9 cages, push bumpers, winches and more. Troubleshoot and diagnose problems with equipment as necessary
    • Complete all required paperwork and documentation
    • Maintain safe, clean and orderly tools and work area
  • Qualifications
    • Experience installing light bars, flashers, sirens, radios, speakers, antennas, routers, video cameras, laptops, printers, consoles, transport partitions, K-9 cages, push bumpers, winches and more in a fast-paced shop or related experience.
    • EVT and/or ASE preferred
    • Must possess the drive and aptitude to work safely with tools and understand auto wiring
    • Self-motivated, ability to work individually or work well in small teams
    • Be able to follow directions; evaluate problems and prioritize tasks
    • Familiar with basic computer programs, i.e. Word, Excel, Outlook, and  Google Suite  
  • Work Environment
    • Work inside a shop environment, occasional outside work
    • EVT and/or ASE preferred
    • Bending, kneeling, squatting, sitting and laying in tight spaces may be required
    • Climbing on step ladders may be required
    • Lifting, up to 50lbs may be required
