Job description

EXAMPLES OF WORK PERFORMED FOR ROUTE SETTER:
  • Accountable for reliability and consistency in scheduling for route-setting staff and climbing wall related projects (e.g., competition setting)
  • Setting for team practice and any mock comps needed by the Head Coach
  • Promote Threshold memberships and services
  • Ability to work on administrative responsibilities while also pro-actively communicating with the staff
  • Participate in regularly scheduled meetings with management
  • Plan and attend appropriate climbing competitions with team members
  • Uphold a positive ethos in the staff environment
  • Development and implementation of advertising strategies in coordination with Threshold's leadership team
  • Inspections (e.g, route, equipment, ppe, etc.)

EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS FOR ROUTE SETTER: Boom Lift Certified (or a willingness and ability to acquire such certification); USA Climbing Route-setter Level 1 or higher; Current CPR/AED certification required (or a willingness and ability to acquire such certification); Annual SafeSport Training and Certification; 1+ years of climbing experience preferred; Ability to forerun at a minimum of V2 and 5.9; AMGA CWI Certification required (or a willingness and ability to acquire such certification); excellent communication skills both verbal and written; knowledge of employment, safety, and merchandise handling procedures. PHYSICAL ACTIVITY REQUIREMENTS FOR ROUTE SETTER: To successfully perform the essential functions of the job, an employee must be able to perform the following: Stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pulling, talking, hearing/listening and repetitive motion.
Heavy Work: Lifting up to 50 lbs regularly.
Work Environment: Primarily indoor climate-controlled environment. Can include washing/disinfecting holds outside in all seasons if necessary.
