Job description

Position Summary
The Crew Leader, Landscape is responsible for leading a team of landscape crew members to deliver high-quality maintenance services across Sunrise Landscape's commercial client properties. This is a working leader role, responsible for both hands-on landscape tasks and overseeing crew performance, safety, and efficiency to ensure work is completed to company standards.
The Crew Leader partners closely with Foremen and Operations leadership to execute daily maintenance schedules, maintain accurate production tracking in Aspire, and support a strong team culture. A successful Crew Leader brings field experience, strong leadership skills, operational discipline, and a commitment to safety, quality, and client satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
As one of our Crew Leaders, you will have the following areas of responsibility:
Crew Leadership & Planning
  • Lead and direct daily activities of assigned crew members to complete scheduled maintenance routes safely, efficiently, and to company standards
  • Conduct daily pre-shift meetings to review safety, work assignments, and expectations
  • Provide on-the-job coaching, training, and accountability to support crew performance and development
  • Communicate with Operations leadership regarding progress, issues, and client needs

Aspire & Administrative Responsibilities
  • Accurately clock in and out of jobs in Aspire to ensure proper time tracking and job costing
  • Assign and verify crew hours and job codes daily in Aspire
  • Track job progress, service notes, photos, and materials used within Aspire
  • Ensure all production data is entered accurately and closed out daily
  • Partner with branch leadership to resolve any Aspire discrepancies or reporting issues

Driving & Equipment Management
  • Safely operate company vehicles to transport crew members, equipment, and materials to and from job sites when required
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and report any issues immediately
  • Load, secure, unload, and maintain equipment and materials safely
  • Operate landscaping equipment, including mowers, trimmers, blowers, and edgers, safely and efficiently
  • Ensure all tools and equipment are cleaned, maintained, and stored properly after use

Landscape Maintenance & Property Care
  • Perform hands-on landscape maintenance tasks including mowing, trimming, edging, pruning, and debris removal as needed
  • Monitor property conditions and report irrigation issues, turf concerns, and safety hazards
  • Maintain a high standard of workmanship and ensure properties are left clean and professional after each visit

Safety & Team Conduct
  • Enforce and model company safety standards, including PPE compliance and safe equipment operation
  • Promote a culture of teamwork, accountability, and respect among crew members
  • Report accidents, property damage, and safety incidents promptly and accurately

Qualifications & Core Competencies
  • Two to three years of landscape maintenance experience required, with prior crew lead or senior crew experience preferred
  • Must be at least 18 years of age and legally authorized to work in the United States
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
  • Ability to perform physically demanding outdoor work in varying weather conditions
  • Comfortable using mobile devices or tablets for Aspire time and production tracking
  • Strong understanding of landscape maintenance practices, equipment operation, and crew efficiency
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and client satisfaction
  • Ability to coach, motivate, and hold team members accountable

Driver Qualifications
To qualify as a Driver, in addition to the above, you must:
  • Possess a valid driver's license issued in the United States for a minimum of three years
  • Maintain a clean driving record for at least three years
  • Successfully pass a drug screening
