Job Summary:

The Lead Builder Development Specialist establishes and implements the Builder Development Program (BDP) in the region and is the lead administrator and facilitator. It is the responsibility to provide the project teams, coaches, and Business Units with support and training to ensure that the participants are provided with consistent and equitable experience and opportunity for development. This person is the main point of contact for the program in the region.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the implementation and continuation of the BDP program in the region.
  • Active member of the BDP Team; maintains the program consistency through regular check-ins and communication.
  • Communication of the program format, the content, and administration requirements to a wide audience.
  • Reports out to the Initiative Lead on progress, challenges, and results, as well coordinates and collaborates with the Initiative Manager as well as the other Specialists, through scheduled meetings.
  • Monitors curriculum achievement through centralized tracking tools for the participants including evaluations and assessments with coaches.
  • Manages the calendar of activities including rotations, events, and meetings, etc.
  • Identifies, solicits, organizes, calendars, and coordinates facilitators, speakers, off-site visits, and jobsite visits to enhance learning objectives.
  • Facilitates or arranges frequent group sessions, facilitates content, and engages participants in a cohort to share experiences and ask questions in a safe space.
  • Captures and submits feedback and incorporates program improvements.
  • Creates and curates content for the BDP to support goals, with oversight and support from BDP team.
  • Consults and trains project teams and coaches to ensure both team and participant are supported.
  • Administer training and program announcements to employees and peer groups.
  • Manages questionnaires, evaluations, and feedback forms for assessments for participants and assists participants and coaches for those needing additional development.
  • Consults with participants, coaches, and project teams when program needs are unclear.
  • Lead troubleshooter for issues with the courses, coaches, and participants relating to the program.
  • Serves as a key liaison with Business Units and Regions to identify projects or facilities to help enhance the rotational learning for the participants.
  • Engages with BU Staffing groups and Talent Acquisition Team to coordinate start dates and finish dates, staffing needs, and project placement for rotations.
  • Works with BUs and Talent Team to identify coaches for the BDP participants.
  • Understands the requirements of the coach, utilizes the Coach Guidebook as well as facilitates coaching cohorts for coaching development and support.
  • Develops rapport and connection with participants.
  • Ensures that the implementation of the program regionally follows company policies and best practices.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of experience in a large commercial construction environment or equivalent experience
  • Experience in managing construction projects at DPR.
  • At least 2 years of experience as a Trainer or Facilitator required; experience creating training content preferred.
  • Coaching and mentoring experience
  • Experience with staffing projects and monitoring the performance of the assigned resources.
  • Capable of managing teams of varied sizes and complexities
  • Experience with software programs such as Workday, Microsoft Suite, Smartsheet, CMiC, ACC, and P6.
  • Experience with DPR project management functions and software for project controls, reporting, and forecasting
  • Has a high attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.

  • Ability to facilitate technical training.

  • Experience with other construction management software such as Navisworks, Synchro, Hammertech
  • Experience with staffing projects, the Resource Management Program (RMP) and Staffing Management Tools

Other Considerations:

  • This is meant to be a transitional role; a two-to-three-year commitment as a development opportunity.
  • This position will report directly to the Builder Training Program Lead initially. This could transition to regional PPL.
  • Travel to jobsites, facilities, and Business Unit offices. Travel is required for this role at least twice a month.
  • Able to participate and facilitate in both in-person and virtual settings.
  • Full-time, work week is Monday - Friday
  • This position may require extended hours as needed (early mornings, evenings, or occasional weekends may be required based on specific needs).

Salary is just one component of DPR's total compensation package. Compensation range: $122,000 - $175,000
