Your Responsibilities

The 2026 Weld Manufacturing Engineering Development Program gives recent engineering graduates three experiences over a two year period. The eight-month rotations include assignments in Weld OFP Manufacturing Engineering, Fabrication OFP Manufacturing Engineering, Tooling Engineering and Fabrication or Weld PDP- all possible at John Deere locations in the Midwest. You'll have the opportunity to learn and execute weld processes within each of these areas.

 What Skills You Need

Education:

    • Currently pursuing or recent college graduate with a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Welding Engineering or related Engineering degree with an anticipated graduation date of December 2025 through August 2026
    • Desired cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above on a 4.0 scale. Minimum cumulative GPA required of 2.8 on a 4.0 scale

    Candidates must be willing to relocate to Dubuque, Iowa

    Work Statement:  US Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

 What Skills You Need

  • Previous intern or co-op experience in weld engineering
  • Experience with problem solving and working in a team environment.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Familiar with Microsoft Office products.

Ideally, a strong candidate will also possess:

  • Experience with Pro/E, Solid Works, or AutoCAD.
  • Experience with tooling design.
  • Working knowledge of robotics and design for automation.
  • Knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Experience with SAP.  
  • Experience with line design, material presentation, cycle balancing

Salary based on published rates based on business function and education level is $81,000-$83,000.
