Rota information

What is a rota?

A Rota job typically refers to a role where work is scheduled on a rotating basis, often in shifts. This type of scheduling is common in industries that require 24/7 coverage, such as healthcare, hospitality, and security. Employees follow a predetermined timetable that may change weekly or monthly, ensuring continuous coverage. Rota jobs can offer flexibility but may also require working evenings, weekends, or holidays.

What does a typical work schedule look like for a rota nanny?

In a Rota Nanny position, you usually work in cycles such as one or two weeks on, followed by an equivalent amount of time off. During your working weeks, you’re typically on duty for extended hours—often living in and providing round-the-clock support to the family. This arrangement allows for periods of intense work balanced by generous time off, making it well-suited to individuals seeking predictable blocks of personal time. Collaboration with another nanny is common, ensuring a seamless transition and consistent care for the children.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in the rota position, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Rota Nanny, you need substantial childcare experience, strong organizational skills, and relevant certifications such as pediatric first aid or early childhood education. Familiarity with household management systems, family scheduling apps, and travel logistics is common in this role. Flexibility, discretion, and excellent communication are essential soft skills to work effectively with families and adapt to changing routines. These skills ensure safe, reliable, and high-quality care within demanding and dynamic home environments.

Job description

Gas Operations Technician

Indiana, USA

Competitive Hourly Rate + Benefits

We're supporting an established Renewable Natural Gas (RNG) operator in their search for a Gas Operations Technician to join their operations team.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong mechanical background who enjoys hands-on work in a fast-paced industrial environment. You'll play a key role in keeping the gas processing facility operating safely, efficiently and reliably, helping maximise production while minimising downtime.

Working as part of a close-knit operations team, you'll be involved in the day-to-day operation, maintenance and optimisation of gas upgrading equipment, ensuring the plant consistently delivers gas that meets pipeline quality specifications.

What you'll be doing

  • Safely operate and monitor the gas upgrading and processing systems.
  • Optimise plant performance to maximise production and efficiency.
  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance and reactive repairs across the facility.
  • Inspect and monitor compressors, blowers, chillers, gas pre-treatment equipment and associated process systems.
  • Complete routine equipment checks including pressures, temperatures, flow rates, fluid levels and gas quality readings.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical and operational issues using SCADA and plant control systems.
  • Coordinate maintenance activities with internal teams and external contractors.
  • Respond to plant alarms, callouts and equipment failures to minimise downtime.
  • Maintain accurate operational records, maintenance logs and production data.
  • Manage on-site spare parts and inventory.
  • Maintain high housekeeping standards while ensuring all work is completed safely and in line with environmental and operational procedures.

What we're looking for

  • Previous experience operating or maintaining equipment within an industrial, manufacturing, power generation, RNG, biogas, wastewater, oil & gas or similar process environment.
  • Strong mechanical troubleshooting and fault-finding skills.
  • Experience working with compressors, blowers, pumps or rotating equipment.
  • Comfortable using SCADA or other industrial control systems.
  • Basic electrical knowledge is advantageous.
  • Ability to work independently and make sound operational decisions.
  • Good understanding of pressure, flow and process systems.
  • Valid driver's licence.
  • Experience working within a 24/7 production environment is preferred.

Shift Pattern

  • 12-hour rotating swing shift.
  • 2-2-3 shift pattern.
  • Participation in an on-call rota, including occasional nights and weekends.

What's on Offer

  • Competitive hourly rate.
  • Weekly pay.
  • Comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability cover and 401(k).
  • Paid time off from day one in line with company policy.
  • Long-term opportunity within the growing Renewable Natural Gas sector.
  • A hands-on role where you'll make a real impact on plant performance and reliability while developing your skills within one of the fastest-growing areas of renewable energy.
