Job description

The Liberal Art Division (Humanities) is dedicated to preparing students for success beyond Rose State College. The Division consists of innovative, nurturing faculty who strive to deliver quality courses that prepare students with the skills and knowledge necessary for academic transfer to other institutions and/or to enter the job market. The adjunct professors are an integral part of the division and bring work-related experiences, technological skills, applications, and innovative approaches to education into the classroom.

Openings for Adjunct Professor(s) may be available in the following areas of study:

  • Art 
  • English* 
  • Humanities 
  • Languages*
  • Music* 
  • Philosophy 
  • Photography*
  • Reading 
  • Speech 
  • Theatre*
  • FSDM*

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Generally, a master's degree in the teaching discipline or a master's degree with a minimum of 18 graduate hours in the discipline and two years college teaching experience.

* Adjunct opportunities in these areas require lesser degrees.

  • Digital Photography - Bachelor's degree in Photography Arts or related field 
  • English – Bachelor's Degree
  • French - Bachelor's degree in French and successful results (recognized by RSC to be an Advanced High to Superior rating) on the Language Testing International speaking, reading, writing, and listening certification tests in French
  • Languages - (1) High School Diploma or GED; (2) Recognition by the Tribal government as a fluent speaker of the language OR selection by the tribe as the instructor of record for the class on recognition as an expert on indigenous languages; (3) Experience as an instructor of the language.
  • Mass Communication – Bachelor's Degree plus two (2) years' experience
  • Music – Public Performances
  • Theatre – Bachelor's Degree in Theatre, Theatre Arts, or related field and two (2) years and/or 4 productions in experience.
  • FSDM - Masters degree in a Film and Media-related field; OR Bachelors degree in a Film and Media-related filed with a minimum of one-year professional experience on commercial, independent, or studio film and media projects; OR Five years professional experience on commercial, independent, or studio film and media projects

Pay Rate: $700 per credit hour.

Note regarding re-applying:  Adjunct announcements are limited to one application per applicant.  However, adjunct position announcements are refreshed on the first Friday of each month. Adjunct candidates wishing to update their credentials or request reconsideration may re-apply accordingly.

An unofficial degree conferring transcripts must be received by this office for formal consideration; however, should an offer of employment be extended, official transcripts are required.

All finalists may be subject to a background check and/or drug test.

Must be eligible to work in the United States.
