Description

Position Summary:

  • Responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Rose Center for Aging Well including management of daily programming and services, the nutrition program, and transportation services according to agency policies and procedures.
  • Administers supportive services to seniors.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The following description is a general representation of the key duties and responsibilities of the position.ย ย 

  • Develops and implements continuous outreach strategies to increase center utilization and rate of participation by current participants.
  • Oversees planning, development, publication and execution of monthly adult development activities.
  • Attends, participates in and contributes to the development of shared programming and services between Rose Centers.
  • Hires, trains, supervises and evaluates Rose Center staff in accordance with agency personnel policies and funder requirements.
  • Recruits, trains, supervises and manages Center volunteers.
  • Manages congregate meal program; home delivered meals program (as applicable), community supplemental food program, supportive services, transportation, and adult development activities.
  • Ensures assessments are conducted and documented annually or as needed to ensure client eligibility for enrollment in Rose Center services such as congregate meals, transportation, supportive services, and adult development.
  • Oversees client information system database ensuring data is entered accurately per agency and funder requirements for scheduling, requisition, billing and reporting purposes.
  • Represent the Center in the community with all stakeholders and stakeholder groups (i.e. community development corporations, community meetings, public officials, etc.).
  • Develops partnerships with community programming entities.
  • Staying current with any trends that will impact how services are delivered at the senior center via webinars, trainings and/or professional development.
  • Manages expenditures according to Center's budget.
  • Works with the Executive Director to prepare material for grant proposals and funding contracts.
  • Supervises the management of building and grounds Rose Centers occupies, if applicable.
  • Develops and maintains positive working relationships with governmental agencies, funding sources, donors, other senior services organizations, media and others with whom the Center interacts.

Home Delivered Meals Program Site:

  • Oversees client assessments for timely completion and documentation to ensure client eligibility.
  • Supervises social work in-home client assessments.
  • Ensures equipment and vehicles are operating per standards.
  • Monitors vehicle maintenance schedule.
  • Reports maintenance needs and repairs in the appropriate electronic platform.

Other Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Generates administrative reports, statistical documentation and funding accountability within specified time frame.
  • Develops and maintains an atmosphere conducive to effective team performance.
  • Represents Rose Centers on organization committees, project teams and community events as assigned.
  • Performs duties of Rose Center staff as needed.
  • Ensure appropriate contract usage.

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to, stand, sit; talk, hear, reach, stoop, kneel, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer, keyboard and telephone.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision requirements due to computer work.
  • Light to moderate lifting is required, up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to uphold the stress of traveling; ability to travel locally to multiple locations routinely, nationally occasionally.
  • Regular, predictable attendance is required.
  • Moderate noise (i.e. business office with computers, phone, and printers, light traffic).
  • Ability to work in a confined area.
  • Ability to sit at a computer terminal for an extended period of time.
  • Work environment is stressful at times.

Requirements

Specific knowledge, training or skills required to perform the duties of this position including specific courses, training programs or required certifications. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and abilities required for the position.

  • Bachelor's Degree in social work, non-profit management, public health or related field or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Community outreach experience.
  • Strong verbal, written, oral and electronic communication skills, including public speaking.
  • Interpersonal skills: demonstrated ability to effectively work with the public, client population and employees at all organizational levels.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in use of computer programs including Microsoft Office, database management and financial software.
  • Experience in building community partnerships.
  • Ability to work in multiple locations as needed.ย ย 


Previous Experience that is necessary to qualify for this position:

  • Minimum two (2) years of experience working with older adults or in senior services.
  • Minimum two (2) years of administrative and supervisory experience.
