Job description

Earn $23-$28/hour as the Catering Manager in Madison, WI.

We are immediately hiring for a full-time manager to lead our catering team!

Located at 3241 Garver Green, Madison, WI 53704, but this job will have you working events all over the Madison area.

Why Ian's?

  • $21.50/hr guaranteed minimum. Catering Manager typically earns $23-$28/hr with tips and wage.
  • Excellent health and dental, retirement benefits, profit-sharing, flexible schedules, and more.
  • PTO accrual starting on day one. This role supports both your success and well-being.
  • Inclusive crew committed to the Big Five - Dependability, Awareness, Connection, Generosity, and Effort.
  • Advance your career with our robust Management Training Program!

About this Role

You're leading the catering squad as its manager! Keeping the energy high, the service smooth, and the vibe unmistakably Ian's. You'll work with the GM and AGM to make sure your crew has the training, tools, and support they need to crush every shift. Our team is supportive and strongly believes that you can take pride in your work and have fun at the same time!

A big part of your gig is training and developing your team. You'll be the lead trainer for catering: showing staff the ropes, giving helpful feedback, and running quarterly reviews. There's also the behind-the-scenes work: manager meetings, responding to messages, tackling special projects, and working with leadership to make your department run well.

What You'll Bring to the Manager Team

  • 1+ years of experience as a Supervisor or Shift Leader in the food and beverage industry. Specific experience in Catering is required.
  • Embrace and embody the 2030 Vision, Company Values, Standards for Customer Service, Food Quality, and the Big Five.
  • Must complete a food safety certification course within 6 months.
  • Able to stand and walk for long periods; and to bend, crouch, and lift up to 30 lbs regularly, up to 50lbs on occasion. This is an active job!
  • Able to use equipment of the business and in environments with temperature changes. You'll be working with sharp knives, hot ovens, cold walk-in coolers, etc.
  • Reliable transportation to and from the restaurant for a variety of shift times, including mornings, afternoons, and nights.
  • Able to comfortably drive a box truck at varying hours of the day and to various locations, including using the highway.
  • Bilingual in Spanish is a major plus!

Scheduling and Hours

Working 35-40 hours per week, you'll split your time between 30-35 hours on the floor and 5-10 hours handling the behind-the-scenes magic like projects, admin tasks, and meetings. Any time over 40 is paid as overtime. Your schedule will drop 2-4 weeks at a time so you can plan your life and your pizza intake accordingly.

Garver is open Monday-Thursday 11am-9pm, Friday 11am-10pm, Saturday 10am-10pm, Sunday 10am-9pm. Shifts are typically scheduled from 9am-4/5pm for lunch and 3/4pm-11pm/12am for dinner. Catering event shifts vary in days and times depending on the event schedule.

The action happens on evenings and weekends! The ovens are roaring and the energy's high. So, we'll need you in the mix - weekend and evening availability is a must. You'll tag-team with the rest of the managers to handle emergencies and jump in when coverage is needed.
