Reach New Heights With Us! Become the Sky Trail Course Operator at the YMCA of Central Texas

The YMCA of Central Texas is seeking energetic, safety-focused team members to help launch and operate our brand-new Sky Trail ropes course. This is more than a seasonal job - it's an opportunity to be part of a premier adventure attraction designed to build confidence, create unforgettable memories, and serve families from across our region. As a Sky Trail Operator, you will play a critical role in delivering an experience that is thrilling, welcoming, and above all, safe.

In this role, you will directly support the mission of the YMCA by ensuring the safe daily operation of the Sky Trail. Under the leadership of the Course Manager, you will complete all required RCI Sky Trail Operator trainings and certifications, maintain proficiency in Emergency Take Down (ETD) procedures, and demonstrate mastery of every level of the course. You will be responsible for conducting and documenting daily inspections, monitoring weather and safety systems, maintaining all harnesses and safety equipment, and ensuring ETD kits are properly staged and accessible at all times.

Operators are the front line of participant safety. You will properly size and fit harnesses, perform mandatory Pre-Flight Checks, enforce all safety guidelines, and actively monitor guests throughout their experience. You must be confident working at heights of 15 feet or more, remain calm under pressure, and respond swiftly and effectively to emergencies when necessary. Every interaction matters - you will combine strict adherence to safety standards with positive, professional customer service to create an environment where guests feel both secure and excited.

Qualifications:

  • At least 18 years of age
  • Meets Sky Trail health and physical requirements
  • Highly motivated, organized, personable, enthusiastic displaying leadership abilities.
  • ACCT Certification
  • Are adaptable, flexible, and enjoy variety in your work environment including weekends and non-business hour workdays
  • Model the YMCA core values: Caring, Honesty, Respect and Responsibility; implement character development and the YMCA core values in all programs and all aspects of Center operations
  • Must be able to pass background and drug screening

Salary: $17-19 DOE
