Position Summary

We are seeking an Operations Analyst to support Middle Market Business operations by improving workflows, system performance, and cross-functional execution. This role critical to drive consistency, scalability, and adoption across teams and offices and will report to the Director of Operations - MMB.

What will your job entail?

Hybrid role out of Nashville, TN (3 days in office)

Key Responsibilities

  • Cross-Functional Coordination & Liaison
    • Facilitate communication and track dependencies
    • Ensure timely escalation and resolution of cross-functional blockers
  • Requirements & Workflow Analysis
    • Gather and translate business needs into clear requirements and user stories
    • Map end-to-end workflows and identify gaps, inefficiencies, and automation opportunities
    • Partner with stakeholders to design scalable, consistent processes
  • System Optimization & Issue Resolution
    • Analyze system behavior, workflows, and data flow across platforms
    • Identify root causes of recurring issues and drive sustainable solutions
    • Improve consistency across submission quote bind workflows
  • Testing & Release Support
    • Lead UAT planning, test case development, and execution
    • Validate system changes against business requirements before release
    • Track and manage defects through resolution in partnership with vendors/VRU tech team
  • Operational Issue Management
    • Track, prioritize, and help resolve operational issues across teams
    • Provide visibility into risks, blockers, and recurring challenges
    • Ensure follow-through on critical items impacting business performance
  • Documentation & Enablement
    • Develop and maintain SOPs, workflow documentation, and quick reference guides
    • Support consistent execution of processes across teams and offices
    • Partner with stakeholders to reinforce adoption of best practices
  • Reporting & Performance Insights
    • Track key metrics related to operations, system performance, and adoption
    • Provide insights to leadership on trends, bottlenecks, and improvement opportunities
    • Support development of consistent KPI definitions and reporting

Required Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 3-5+ years of experience in operations, business analysis, or systems-focused roles
  • 3+ years of experience in insurance, ideally within underwriting operations
  • Strong ability to translate business needs into process and system requirements
  • Experience with UAT, defect tracking, and workflow/process documentation
  • Excellent communication skills with ability to coordinate across teams and stakeholders
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Familiarity with Agile environments (user stories, backlog management)
  • Advanced Excel or reporting/analysis experience
