This role supports physician-ordered nutritional services, ensuring patient preferences and dietary needs are met with accuracy and compassion.
Role Overview
As a Nutrition Services Specialist, you will engage in multiple key functions including call center support, room service assistance, expediting meal assembly, and food service preparation. Your responsibilities will range from taking meal orders and coordinating with dietary staff to ensuring food quality and timely delivery to patient units.
Call Center Specialist Duties

  • Efficiently obtain and process meal orders from patients and visitors via telephone.
  • Ensure meal orders comply with diet parameters and document information accurately.
  • Serve as a liaison between nutrition services, patients, and nursing units, addressing concerns and coordinating care.
Room Service Specialist Duties
  • Serve meals professionally and assist patients with meal ordering systems.
  • Assess patient capabilities to use ordering systems and communicate needs to appropriate staff.
  • Monitor and report on patient feeding assistance requirements and dietary concerns.
Expeditor Responsibilities
  • Coordinate meal assembly during tray line processes, verifying accuracy and quality.
  • Ensure timely delivery of food carts and maintain food safety standards.
  • Communicate effectively with food service staff and leadership to maintain smooth operations.
Food Service Starter Tasks
  • Initiate meal tray assembly, ensuring proper portions, garnishing, and food safety.
