Position Summary:

Eskola, LLC's Nashville, Tennessee branch is seeking a motivated individual to join our growing team! The Superintendent will be responsible for leading roofing foremen to perform work safely and productively per specifications and to the standards of the company and customers resulting in quality commercial roofing installations.

The Superintendent will effectively manage all aspects of new roof production and reroofing to meet company and project goals, represent the company in a professional manner in all dealings with customers, personnel, and the public, provide consistently high-quality service and results, provide leadership to foremen fostering safety, teamwork, and discipline.

The duties of Superintendent will also include, but are not limited to ensuring crews have information and instructions necessary to complete jobs, submitting reports and paperwork to office in a timely manner, reviewing final paperwork to ensure change orders are reflected and billed, participating in manufacturer final inspections, participating in regular review meetings with project managers, visiting job sites daily, conducting or participating in daily safety audits, and engaging with customers to answer questions.


Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Project Oversight & Site Management:

  • Supervise all on-site activities during the installation, repair, and maintenance of commercial roofing systems.
  • Ensure roofing projects are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with project specifications and quality standards.
  • Oversee and direct the work of Foreman, roofing crews, subcontractors, and other construction workers on the job site.
  • Monitor the daily progress of roofing projects, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and according to the project schedule.
  • Communicate and coordinate with the project manager and other team members to ensure project timelines and goals are met.

Safety Management:

  • Ensure that all safety protocols and procedures are followed on the job site, in compliance with OSHA standards and company policies.
  • Conduct regular safety meetings with roofing crews to review safety procedures and address potential hazards.
  • Perform site inspections to ensure a safe working environment and to mitigate risks.
  • Ensure all crew members are wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and are trained in safety protocols.

Quality Control:

  • Ensure the highest standards of quality are maintained throughout the roofing installation process.
  • Inspect completed work regularly to confirm that roofing systems meet or exceed industry standards and customer expectations.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any issues that arise during installation or maintenance, ensuring minimal disruption to the project.

Crew Leadership & Coordination:

  • Lead and motivate roofing teams, ensuring efficient workflow and resolving any personnel-related issues that arise on-site.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to crew members, ensuring that they have the proper training and resources to complete tasks safely and effectively.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers to ensure the timely delivery of materials and equipment required for the project.
  • Oversee the deployment of crew members and ensure the right number of workers with the right skill sets are assigned to each task.

Material & Equipment Management:

  • Ensure that materials, tools, and equipment are available on-site and are in good working condition.
  • Work with project managers to manage inventory and track material usage.
  • Monitor and report any equipment issues or maintenance needs to the appropriate department.

Documentation & Reporting:

  • Maintain accurate records of daily work activities, crew attendance, and material usage.
  • Report on project progress, issues, and delays to the project manager regularly.
  • Complete daily logs and progress reports, documenting any safety concerns, quality issues, or changes in scope.
  • Assist with the preparation of project close-out documentation and ensure that all required warranties, as-built drawings, and inspection reports are submitted.

Client & Stakeholder Communication:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact on the job site for clients, subcontractors, and vendors.
  • Ensure client expectations are met by maintaining clear, professional communication and resolving any concerns or issues promptly.
  • Conduct periodic meetings or check-ins with clients, project managers, and other stakeholders to provide updates on project status and address any concerns.


Position Requirements and Qualifications:

Education:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (required).
  • Certifications in roofing, safety, or construction management (e.g., OSHA 30-hour, Roofing Manufacturer Certifications, or equivalent) are preferred.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial roofing; Superintendent / management experience preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with a variety of commercial roofing systems (e.g., TPO, EPDM, PVC, modified bitumen, metal, etc.).
  • Strong background in safety management, including OSHA standards and regulations.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple teams and oversee large-scale roofing projects.
  • Must be able to successfully complete a pre-employment background check and drug screening as a condition of hire.

Skills:

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities, with a proactive approach to resolving issues on the job site.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, roofing specifications, and safety guidelines.
  • Solid understanding of roofing materials, installation processes, and industry best practices.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and/or project management software for daily reporting and project tracking.
  • Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks to meet project deadlines.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to work outdoors and in various weather conditions.
  • Physical ability to inspect and monitor work activities on rooftops, including the ability to lift heavy materials and equipment.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and climb ladders or scaffolding for extended periods.
  • Must be comfortable working at heights and capable of safely using ladders and other elevated access equipment.

Work Environment:

  • This position primarily involves working on commercial construction sites.
  • Occasional travel may be required to oversee projects at different locations.
  • Must be able to work in varied weather conditions and in a physically demanding environment.

Driving:

  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and maintain an acceptable driving record that meets company and insurance requirements to travel to and from work sites.
