Job description

We're seeking an experienced machine operator to learn and operate our CNC equipment to make/shape parts for our Aerospace customers. What Youโ€™ll Be Doing:

While beginning training to understand and operate CNC equipment, employee will assist with setting up tools and equipment to operate CNC equipment. He or she must machine material as specified by work order and specific blueprints and diagrams and complete the necessary quality inspections of product.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Others as assigned.

  • Assist in setup of machine, tooling, and fixtures.
  • Use beginnerโ€™s knowledge of M&G code and make minor adjustments to meet production goals. See full job description Education section for further details.
  • Use appropriate measuring tools to assure required quality standards are met.
  • Follow all verbal and written instructions pertaining to the operation of the CNC machine and related equipment as well as any other jobs to which he/she may be assigned.
  • Produce quality parts, which include the placement of raw material, assisting in the removal of parts and packing, and cutting parts by hand (where applicable).
  • Complete all training, including STEPS training (JIT, 6-S, Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen and Six Sigma, SPC), Basic Computer Skills, Basic Math, Blueprint Reading, and CNC trainee-level courses.
  • Use a working knowledge of GSS, Raw Material Tickets, Work-In-Process/Finished Goods/Inventory Tickets, Set-up Charts, Rework/Defective Parts, End of Shift Paperwork, Route Sheets, Understanding of Tool Storage/Staging Operation.
  • Follow safety guidelines, handling parts and general housekeeping.

Schedule: This 2nd shift position and will typically work Monday to Thursday, 3PM to 1:30AM and overtime as needed. Training will take place during 1st shift hours for up to 6 months. Monday - Thursday 5AM-3:30PM, overtime as needed.




Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Related experience and training with machine operations, including knowledge of G&M Code, CNC fundamentals.
  • Available to work open shift and overtime as needed
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. on regular basis
  • US Person as defined by ITAR / EAR

Preferred:

  • Consistent experience in manufacturing setting, in set-up and machine operation or metal fabrication:
  1. Setting up/running CNC equipment
  2. Performing part quality inspections
  3. Blueprint reading
  4. Some experience with making adjustments to CNC programs
  5. Strong work history
  6. Experience in Aerospace division or with aerospace parts/industry/quality systems
