Job description

Job Summary

The Metal Fabricator is responsible for operating and maintaining metal fabrication machinery to produce high-quality steel components to exact specifications. This role requires strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety and precision. Fabricators play a key role in maintaining production flow, meeting customer requirements, and ensuring consistent quality standards.


Key Responsibilities

  • Operate and adjust metal fabrication machinery, including press brakes, roll formers, shears, and punch machines, to meet production specifications.
  • Read and interpret prints, schematics, and job travelers to determine proper setup and tooling.
  • Use precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, gauges, and tape measures) to verify dimensions and ensure adherence to quality standards.
  • Perform routine maintenance, minor repairs, and changeovers to maintain optimal machine performance.
  • Document production activity, quality checks, and machine adjustments accurately.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with company and OSHA standards.
  • Follow all safety procedures and wear required PPE at all times.
  • Participate in team problem-solving and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance safety, quality, and efficiency.


Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a metal fabrication or manufacturing environment.
  • Prior experience driving forklifts (warehouse, counterbalance, and heavy-duty style).
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with proven troubleshooting and precision measuring skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret prints, schematics, and process documentation.
  • Dependable, safety-conscious, and detail-oriented with the ability to meet production deadlines.
  • Physically able tolift upto 75 pounds and stand for extended periods.
  • Must pass background check and pre-employment drug screening.
  • Reliable transportation required.

  • Full-time Days, Monday - Friday (Opportunity for extended hours during the work week and Saturdays when business demands.
