Our Staunton, VA facility to looking for a Roll Tender (Clamp Truck Operator) for our sheeting department. This responsible for operating the clamp truck to set up materials and supplies to allow the sheeter to operator efficiently. This role also provides assistance to the sheeter operator when needed.
Primary Responsibilities are, but not limited to the following:
  • Identify the correct material that needs to be moved to the sheeter.
  • Removes the roll wrappers and prepares the roll for cutting.
  • Maintains close communication with the sheeter operator so that the next job is staged correctly.
  • Assists the sheeter operator in maintaining the sheeter.
  • Maintains the roll storage area by keeping the area orderly and organized.
  • Properly load and unload rolls in a manner that prevents damage to raw material.
  • Operation/maintenance of forklift trucks and pallet jacks
  • Ensure that prescribed safety measures are followed
  • Comply with company policies, procedures, rules and regulations
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

An individual in this position must be able to learn and demonstrate the following skills;
  • Proficient in reading and writing to complete required paperwork
  • Perform mathematical functions as related to required paperwork
  • Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems
  • Thorough knowledge of safety regulations, occupational hazards and related safety precautions in the work
  • Operate a forklift and pallet jack and clamp truck
  • Mechanical aptitude

Essential Job Functions include the following:
Physical Requirements:
  • Occasionally (1-10% of the time) lift up to10 pounds
  • Frequently (11-33% of the time) lift up to 50 pounds
  • Frequently (34-66% of the time) standing and walking
  • Occasionally (1-33% of the time) bending, climbing, reaching above the shoulder and at waist or lower, stretching, twisting, carrying (up to 35 pounds), kneeling, grasping (up to 40 pounds) fingering and crouching
  • Frequently (34-66% of the time) squatting, pushing (force up to 70 pounds), pulling ( using jerking motion to remove cores), walking,
  • Continuously (67% of the time) standing
  • Not at all (0% of the time) sitting or crawling
  • Visual depth perception needed
  • Must be able to wear the proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), which includes; safety glasses, steel toed-shoes, ear plugs and cut resistant gloves. Per our quality standards, you must also wear a hair-net
