Job description

TL;DR - We're building the defense layer for the AI age and are looking for a Countermeasure Engineer to operate in the field - identifying cyber-physical threats, acting in real time, and turning those interactions into system learning that compounds globally.

If you want to operate in environments where nothing is labeled, nothing is stable, and decisions matter immediately - this is that role.

Why Sweep?

As intelligent machines proliferate into every part of the physical world, we humans still lack a defense layer to ensure the systems and devices we rely on remain aligned with us.

We're building that layer today by deploying alongside the world's highest-stakes teams - Olympic delegations, F1 paddocks, halftime shows, global tours, studio productions, senior government officials, and executive protection units. What we learn there becomes the foundation for a civilization-defining capability.

We're a small, talent-dense team with high ownership, high velocity, and low ego. We care deeply, move fast, and are here to build something that outlasts us.

Together, we'll redefine cyber-physical security for the AI age.

What makes this role special?
  • First dedicated Countermeasure Engineer operating across global deployments.
  • Operate where cyber, physical, and environment collide.
  • Make decisions under uncertainty and determine what actually matters.
  • Turn field interactions into system learning that improves every deployment.
  • Work in environments where precision and judgment matter.
  • Gain pre-Series A ownership as one of the first 10 engineers.
What we're looking for...
  • 3-6 years operating in environments involving real-world cyber-physical risk (Wi-Fi, BLE, rogue access points, IoT, robotics, embedded systems)
  • Ability to reason across software, networks, hardware, and adversarial behavior.
  • Comfortable acting under ambiguity and adapting quickly.
  • Ability to identify and assess covert or non-obvious threats (e.g. hidden cameras, rogue sensors, embedded devices)
  • Strong engineering fluency (mobile, backend, data, or infra - breadth over specialization)
  • Clear communicator - translates chaotic observations into structured insight
  • U.S. Person status (export-controlled environments).
Bonus if you've...
  • Work in elite sports, live production, national-level events, or SOF/IC environments.
  • Hands-on with SDRs, packet capture, or technical counter-surveillance tools.
  • Operated in forward-deployed or embedded roles.
  • Built automation or workflows from real-world data.
  • Thrived in an early-stage startup.
What you'll do...
  • Deploy globally for short, high-intensity engagements (~40-50% travel).
  • Work directly with teams on the ground in high-stakes environments.
  • Identify and assess cyber-physical threats in the field.
  • Act in real time to contain, remove, or mitigate threats.
  • Convert countermeasures into clear, actionable guidance.
  • Brief non-technical stakeholders clearly under pressure.
  • Systematize patterns into repeatable frameworks across environments.
  • Close the loop by feeding interactions back into system learning.
  • Partner with RF, hardware, and product teams.
How we select...
  • Short application
  • 20-minute intro call
  • Technical deep-dive
  • Practical problem discussion
  • References and offer
Final facts.

Base salary up to $200,000, depending on qualifications, experience, and impact. Total compensation includes equity, premium insurance, 401(k), flexible PTO, and other individual benefits.
You'll join us on-site at our HQ in New York City with occasional domestic and global deployments.
Apply. Make history. Build humanity's defense against machines.
