Job description

Description

The Robot Operator is responsible for setting up and operating robotic welding equipment according to established procedures. This role requires interpreting blueprints and drawings, adjusting robot settings to specifications, and ensuring accurate, quality production.


Essential Responsibilities:

  • Review work orders and shop drawings to confirm dimensions and material availability
  • Set up workstations, fixtures, and robotic welding equipment
  • Perform dry runs on initial pieces to verify accuracy
  • Operate the robotic welding system to complete production jobs
  • Inspect completed work and sign off on operations

Requirements

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Ability to read and interpret shop drawings
  • Basic math skills and experience using measuring tools
  • Familiarity with robotic welding equipment
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple tasks
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 25lbs unassisted

Work Environment

  • Typical machine shop environment
  • Willingness to work additional hours as needed
  • Willingness to be cross trained on multiple machines

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Experience in a shop environment with robotic and plasma cutting equipment
  • Familiarity with robot control panels; forklift and overhead crane experience preferred
