Job description

Job Overview

Senior Manufacturing Engineer โ€“ onsite in Foley, AL. The role focuses on supporting assembly operations, crossโ€‘functional collaboration, and continuous improvement initiatives.

What You Will Do
  • Work cross functionally with stress, design, electrical, materials and process engineers to improve product design to achieve maximum producibility.
  • Implement process technology upgrades by applying various engineering applications such as robotics and automation.
  • Participate in Continuous Improvement (CI) events across all business processes and with all levels of leadership.
  • Support design and arrangement of tooling and machines of the manufacturing process (layout) collaborating with production team.
  • Identify opportunities on drawings and specs to influence changes to engineering designs that improve product manufacturing and producibility.
  • Participate in tool design reviews to ensure tools are feasible and reduce build times and program costs during fabrication.
  • Use advanced data analytics to analyze First Pass Yield (FPY) productivity and Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) targets and improvement.
  • Ensure sequence on manufacturing process and product builds complies with EH&S and Quality requirements.
  • Drive problem solving initiatives and challenge status quo (Corrective Action Investigations, OEE, FPY and Customer escapes).
  • Work cross functionally with Quality participating and contributing to PFMEA and Control Plans.
  • Participate in digital manufacturing initiatives with support from Digital Subject Matter Experts (SME).
Qualifications
  • Typically requires a STEM degree and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an advanced degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience.
  • Experience reading and interpreting specifications, and engineering drawings and models.
  • Experience adapting equipment or tooling design to factory and production conditions.
  • Experience with Continuous Improvement tools.
  • Experience with CAD design software.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in robotics and automation.
  • Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, Red X ACE or CORE.
  • Experience with CATIA, other CAD systems.
  • Experience with 3D printing.
  • Experience in a Manufacturing Shop Environment.
  • Understanding of Project Management methods.
