POSITION OVERVIEW

Location: Scottsdale, AZ
Position Summary
  • Experience with HSG and arthrogram procedures, para, thora and thyroid bx.
  • Ability to assist management with quality control tasks and/or administration of daily site schedules.
  • Be proficient with fluoroscopic (static or dynamic) and invasive procedures, such as, GI, GU, HSG, arthrograms, steroid joint injections / aspirations, assist or perform intravenous contrast injections and other contrast agents used in Radiology under the supervision of a radiologist, as well as closely monitoring patients for adverse reactions.
  • Reviews Images and provide feedback of the studies performed in the form of a technical report to assist the radiologist in the interpretation of specified studies.
  • Serve as a pathway to facilitating and mentoring continuing education to technologists as needed within their scope of practice.
  • Must be able to closely follow physician instructions and obtain optimal images for diagnosis.
  • Must be able to communicate calmly, compassionately, and professionally with all different types of patients exercising excellent customer service skills.
  • The ability to work effectively with other employees and maintain a cooperative working relationship intra-departmentally and inter-departmentally.
  • The ability to handle multiple tasks.
  • The demonstration of ethical and professional conduct, including the ability to maintain confidentiality (HIPAA).
LOCAL PRACTICE AND COMMUNITY OVERVIEW
Southwest Medical Imaging, Ltd. (SMIL) is a well-established, sub-specialized group of nearly 50 radiologists. SMIL owns over a dozen outpatient imaging centers throughout the Phoenix metropolitan area and we continue to grow.
We have an exclusive relationship with our hospital system, HonorHealth. This currently includes three high quality hospitals in Scottsdale, Arizona, which are identified as Level 1 trauma and stroke centers. We will soon be servicing a brand new HonorHealth hospital. Our hospital partner has a strong commitment to advanced cancer care through the Virginia G. Piper Cancer Center. Our unique SMIL Research Institute is an entity through which we perform phase I through IV clinical research in all subspecialty areas. Interested physicians would have the opportunity to gain research literacy as well as participate in sponsored and academic clinical trials.

DESIRED PROFESSIONAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
  • Provide clinical support for radiologists in general fluoroscopic procedures both invasive and non-invasive.
  • Thoracentesis', paracentesis', lumbar punctures, myelograms, joint injections (shoulders, hips, iliopsoas, sacroiliac, wrists, ankles, elbows, knees), hysterosalpingogram, thyroid biopsies, ultrasound guided IV placement, and joint aspirations.
  • Image screening and evaluation.
  • Administer intravenous medications or contrast media.
  • Catheter placement.
  • Act as an intermediate caregiver on behalf of the radiologists.
  • Report equipment and system malfunctions/errors to supervisor.
  • Ensure compliance with the Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA).
  • Maintain licensure requirements, including continuing medical education and CPR Certification.
  • Monitor status of patient exams to ensure patients have been completed with the necessary documents.
  • Must be willing to learn new technology when applicable.
  • Scope of practice will be driven by the needs of the Radiology department as determined by the radiologists and accordance with state and/or federal laws.
  • Uphold all RPSC policies and procedures.
  • Other duties as deemed necessary.

COMPENSATION:
The salary range for this position is $85-105K. Final determinations may vary based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, geographic location etc. This role is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus.
