Position Description & Requirements

POSITION SUMMARY

SMIL is seeking a full-time, Radiologist Practitioner Assistant (RPA) to join our growing practice in Scottsdale, AZ!

  • Provide clinical support for radiologists in general fluoroscopic procedures both invasive and non-invasive. 
  • Be proficient in fluoroscopic (static and dynamic) and invasive procedures, including GI, GU, HSG, arthrograms, myelograms, lumbar punctures, thoracentesis, paracentesis, thyroid biopsies, ultrasound-guided IV placement, and steroid joint injections/aspirations.
  • Assist with or perform intravenous contrast injections and administer other contrast agents used in radiology under the supervision of a radiologist, while closely monitoring patients for adverse reactions.
  • Image screening and evaluation.
  • Must be willing to learn new technology when applicable.
  • Scope of practice will be driven by the needs of the Radiology department as determined by the radiologists and accordance with state and/or federal laws.
  • Other duties as deemed necessary.

Southwest Medical Imaging (SMIL) is a 70+ highly subspecialized radiology practice based in Scottsdale, AZ.  In addition to owning and operating nearly 20 outpatient imaging centers in the Valley, we serve a healthcare network consisting of 6 hospitals.  SMIL has a strong reputation of clinical excellence and superior service in all areas of imaging and intervention. We value physician-leadership, teamwork, and clinical quality. We have our own resources dedicated to providing immediate IT and communications support to our physicians, imaging centers, and our hospital system.


DESIRED PROFESSIONAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Current Radiology Practitioner Assistant (RPA) certification from CBRPA or RRA certification from American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification required.
  • CPR/BLS required. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certificate required.
  • Current AZ MRTBE State license


COMPENSATION:

The salary range for this position is $130,000-$170,000. Final determinations may vary based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, geographic location etc. This role is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus.
