Job description

Job Title: UiPath Functional Business Analyst
Duration: 3 months contract to hire
Location: Preferred Chicago, but remote
Position Overview
CoSourcing Partners is seeking a UiPath Functional Business Analyst to support intelligent automation initiatives across enterprise and public-sector-adjacent environments. This role focuses on business process analysis, requirements definition, stakeholder engagement, and automation opportunity identification, serving as the bridge between business users and UiPath technical delivery teams.
The ideal candidate brings a strong functional BA background, understands how to translate operational workflows into automation-ready requirements, and can guide stakeholders through automation adoption. Experience working with government, public sector, healthcare, or regulated environments is a plus.
Key Responsibilities
Functional Analysis & Discovery
  • Lead process discovery workshops to identify automation opportunities across business functions
  • Document current-state and future-state workflows, business rules, and exception handling
  • Identify automation candidates aligned to value, feasibility, and compliance considerations
  • Partner with stakeholders to define automation success criteria and KPIs

Requirements & Documentation
  • Author Business Requirements Documents (BRDs), Functional Requirements, and Process Design Documents (PDDs)
  • Translate business needs into clear, testable automation requirements for UiPath developers
  • Define acceptance criteria and support UAT planning and execution
  • Maintain requirements traceability throughout the automation lifecycle

Stakeholder & Delivery Support
  • Act as the functional liaison between business users, automation architects, and developers
  • Support sprint planning, backlog grooming, and prioritization in Agile delivery environments
  • Facilitate change management, training, and user adoption for automated solutions
  • Ensure solutions align with organizational policies, controls, and compliance standards

Governance & Public Sector Alignment (Plus)
  • Support automation initiatives in regulated or public-sector environments (state, local, federal, healthcare, utilities, financial services)
  • Ensure documentation and delivery align with audit, security, and compliance requirements
  • Assist with governance models, intake processes, and automation standards

Required Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, preferably in automation or process improvement initiatives
  • Hands-on experience supporting UiPath automation programs (functional role)
  • Strong background in process mapping, requirements elicitation, and stakeholder facilitation
  • Experience working in Agile / Scrum delivery environments
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to translate complex operational processes into automation-ready requirements

Preferred / Nice-to-Have
  • Experience supporting public sector, government, healthcare, utilities, or regulated industries
  • Familiarity with UiPath Studio, Orchestrator concepts, or RPA lifecycle (functional understanding)
  • Exposure to process improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, BPM)
  • Experience supporting UAT, change management, and training for automation deployments
