Position: AssistantCafe Manager
Location: California, Oceanside
Description: The Vigilante Coffee Retail Assistant Cafe Manager is a talented barista, innovative, organized, experienced, and driven leader that ensures our cafes are running in tip top shape. Both in supporting the Cafe Manager in their role & responsibilities and additionally from a profitability standpoint but also with regards to quality, customer experience, and sustainability.
The cafe at our roastery is the customer facing side of our roastery HQ. A busy, vibrant shop where we focus on high quality & great service. The assistant cafe manager leads the team of Coffee Professionals and keeps the cafe on track through hands on leading of the baristas through rushes as well as administratively, operationally, and logistically. The assistant cafe manager helps sets the example for the cafe team. Responsible for day to day management of the cafe (when the manager is not present) and will build, train, and develop a talented team which delivers results, encourages and fosters the Vigilante culture and creates world class coffee experiences.
Sets the conditions for exceptional hospitality including friendliness, cleanliness, speed of service and beverage quality. Actively building the community within the cafe by partnering with local organizations, and engaging the community through events and activities. Responsible for creating and executing monthly and quarterly business plans to drive revenue and maximize bottom-line profitability. Embraces our sustainability initiatives and helps us work towards becoming zero waste operation.
Must be willing to learn how to & to successfully manage the developmental aspects of cafe employees.
Requirements: Barista Experience (in specialty coffee cafe) + 1+ years in shift leader experience is required. ServSafe Food Manager Cert required upon starting. Weekends & holiday availability required. Demonstrated passion and enthusiasm for coffee, quality, and service.
Work Environment: Work is performed within the cafe, The work environment can be high paced, noisy, and interfacing with the public. Days begin at 6:00am ensuring smooth starts to daily cafe operations.
