Job description

Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) – Sterile Compounding

We are looking for an experienced Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) to run operations at a sterile compounding pharmacy in Las Vegas, Nevada. In this role, you will manage daily compounding, keep the facility fully compliant with federal and state laws, and maintain strict quality and safety standards. This position requires an active Nevada pharmacist license and the ability to obtain licenses in other states.

Schedule: Monday - Friday 9am-5pm Salary: $170,000.00 + potential bonus

Key Responsibilities
  • Compliance & Licensing: Serve as the designated PIC, ensuring full compliance with USP <797>, USP <800>, FDA, and state board regulations. Maintain rules for multi-state operations, including California.

  • Daily Operations: Oversee sterile compounding workflows, staff scheduling, and quality assurance programs.

  • Team Leadership: Hire, train, and supervise pharmacists and pharmacy technicians.

  • SOPs & Quality Control: Enforce Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and manage environmental monitoring, validation, and documentation.

  • Audits & Inspections: Lead all regulatory audits, pharmacy inspections, and board interactions.

  • Safe Dispensing: Ensure the proper storage, handling, and dispensing of all compounded sterile preparations.

  • Strategic Growth: Partner with leadership on business expansion, operational planning, and licensing goals.

What We Are Looking For
  • Education: PharmD or equivalent degree from an accredited pharmacy school.

  • Licensure: Active Nevada pharmacist license (required) and the ability to obtain a California license (required). Additional state licenses are highly preferred.

  • Experience: At least 3 years of sterile compounding experience (preferred). Prior experience as a PIC or pharmacy manager (strongly preferred). Experience working in a 503A or 503B environment is a plus.

  • Knowledge: Deep understanding of USP <797>, USP <800>, and multi-state pharmacy regulations.

  • Skills: Strong leadership, clear communication, sharp attention to detail, and a commitment to quality compliance.
