ABOUT YOU
BlueWTR is hiring a Process Engineer to support process design and technical delivery on industrial water and wastewater projects across hyperscale data center, RNG/biogas, semiconductor, advanced manufacturing, and food & beverage markets. You'll contribute from basis-of-design through commissioning on projects ranging from greenfield UPW systems to multi-hundred-MW cooling and reuse infrastructure, working inside a design-build structure with the full backing of ARCO/Murray's national platform.
This role is designed for an early- to mid-career process engineer ready to take increasing ownership of process design, technical deliverables, vendor coordination, and field execution within a design-build environment.
  • Location: Denver or Chicago
  • Travel: 20% domestically

WHAT WE CAN OFFER YOU
  • Industry-leading performance-based bonus program
  • Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP)
  • Traditional and Roth 401(k)
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • HSA and FSA options
  • Paid parental leave
  • Paid sabbatical and volunteer leave
  • Tuition reimbursement
  • Up to $28,000 in scholarships per child
  • 100% charitable match
  • Inclusive, ownership-driven workplace culture

A DAY IN THE LIFE
  • Support process design on industrial water and wastewater projects, including membrane (UF/NF/RO), biological, chemical, solids handling, and reuse systems, from early design through commissioning.
  • Develop basis-of-design content, mass balances, hydraulic calculations, PFDs, P&IDs, equipment layouts, equipment data sheets, and control narratives with review from senior process engineers.
  • Participate in technical discussions with clients, consulting engineers, OEMs, and design-build partners; document decisions and translate process requirements into executable scope.
  • Support equipment sizing and selection, OEM evaluations, technical bid reviews, procurement, and submittal reviews.
  • Support startup, commissioning, troubleshooting, and optimization in coordination with senior process engineers, controls integrators, OEMs, and field teams.
  • Coordinate with project managers, designers, and field teams to maintain technical quality, schedule, constructability, and clear documentation.
  • Support proposals, project scoping, vendor outreach, technical research, and business development efforts for new pursuits.

NECESSARY QUALIFICATIONS
  • 3+ years in water/wastewater process engineering, industrial process design, consulting, design-build, EPC, or a closely related technical role.
  • Experience developing or supporting PFDs, P&IDs, hydraulic calculations, mass balances, equipment sizing, and basis-of-design documentation.
  • Working experience with one or more industrial water/wastewater treatment technologies such as membrane systems (UF/NF/RO), biological treatment, chemical treatment, filtration, or solids handling.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; comfortable participating in client, vendor, and internal technical discussions.
  • Understanding of project cost, schedule, constructability, and how process design decisions affect project delivery.
  • BS in Chemical, Environmental, or related engineering discipline.

Preferred Qualifications
  • EIT certification or progress toward professional license.
  • Direct project experience in hyperscale data center cooling, RNG/biogas, semiconductor UPW, or food & beverage process water.
  • Working knowledge of industrial controls, PLC/SCADA architecture, instrumentation, and process automation handoffs.
  • NPDES permitting and industrial discharge compliance experience.
  • Field, startup, commissioning, or equipment vendor experience.
