Job description

Assignment Overview
Livingston HealthCare’s Family Birth Center is requesting one (1) experienced Labor & Delivery RN traveler. This traveler will help cover primarily night shift needs driven by open positions and time-off requests.
Start Date: ASAP - 3/02/2026
Estimated Duration: 13 Weeks
FTE: 0.9 FTE (36 hours/week)Contract Type: Travel RN – Labor & Delivery / FBC
Schedule & Shift Details
We are currently building the January–March schedule and have identified the following that need help from an RN traveler to cover them:
Nights:
3 night shift needs a second RN scheduled per week plus 2 nights that need back up RN
Days:
1–4 day shifts (varies per week) need back up coverage beyond what our back-up OB RN can cover due to PTO and other staffing needs.
Shifts:
Days: 6:45 a.m. – 7:15 p.m.
Nights: 6:45 p.m. – 7:15 a.m.
Training on both days and nights is required.
Block scheduling may be available and can be discussed with the FBC Supervisor.
Unit & Patient Care Expectations
This role is for a Labor & Delivery RN working in our Family Birth Center (FBC). The traveler must be able to function independently and safely across the full perinatal continuum:
Labor, Delivery, Recovery, and Postpartum
Mother/Baby couplet care
Triage through discharge home with the baby
Support for scheduled and unscheduled C-sections
Ability to safely prioritize and manage multiple patients in collaboration with the care team
If the FBC is closed during a shift, the traveler must be willing to float to Med/Surg as a resource RN.
Required Experience & Qualifications
These requirements are non-negotiable:
Minimum 2 years of recent Labor/Delivery/Recovery/Postpartum & Mother/Baby experience
Must be fully competent in all areas of FBC care (we are not able to train someone in just one area).
At least 1 prior travel RN contract
Active, unrestricted RN license (compact or MT eligible, as applicable)
Current certifications:
AWHONN Fetal Heart Monitoring (FHM)
NRP
ACLS
