Newborn Care Specialist | Nanny for Twins | Elkhorn, NE

POSITION OVERVIEW

Hello Nanny! is a WBENC-certified boutique nationwide household staffing agency seeking an experienced Newborn Care Specialist or professional nanny with NICU, newborn twin, or nursing experience on behalf of a warm, close-knit family in Elkhorn, Nebraska.

This is a full-time, long-term placement caring for premature twin girls (arriving July 2026) and an 18-month-old toddler. The ideal candidate has experience with premature infants, NICU graduates, or multiples, and is confident working alongside a stay-at-home mother in a collaborative household environment.

This is a rare opportunity for a highly skilled childcare professional to make a meaningful, lasting impact on a family navigating one of the most significant transitions of their lives.

LOCATION
Elkhorn, Nebraska (Omaha metro area)

SCHEDULE
Monday-Friday 7:30AM-3:30PM or 8:00AM-4:00PM
40 guaranteed hours per week

COMPENSATION
$26-$45 per hour depending on credentials and experience

       $26-$32/hour - experienced nanny with infant and multiples experience
       $33-$38/hour - Newborn Care Specialist (NCS) certified
       $39-$45/hour - RN, LPN, or nursing background with newborn/NICU experience

BENEFITS

       40 guaranteed hours per week

ABOUT THE FAMILY

A loving, close-knit family based in Elkhorn, NE (Omaha metro) is expecting premature twin girls via planned delivery no later than July 2026. The twins will have a NICU stay following delivery and will require attentive, knowledgeable newborn care upon discharge. The family also has an 18-month-old daughter at home.

Mom is a stay-at-home parent who will be actively involved in the household and childcare. Dad operates a family business and occasionally travels. Extended family including grandparents are nearby and frequently present. The household is warm, organized, laid-back, and professionally cleaned monthly. The family lives in a neighborhood with parks, playgrounds, and is installing a pool.

Children will not attend daycare - this role is in-home support alongside the stay-at-home mother.

THE ROLE - PHASE BY PHASE

Phase 1 - Immediate through twin arrival (July 2026)
Primary focus on the 18-month-old toddler. Supporting household routine while mom is hospitalized prior to delivery. Working alongside dad and extended family members at home.

Phase 2 - Twin arrival through NICU discharge
Continued toddler care and household support. Supporting the family as mom goes back and forth between home and the NICU. Calm, steady presence during a high-stress transition.

Phase 3 - Babies home (full scope)
Full care of all three children - 18-month-old toddler plus premature twin newborn girls - alongside stay-at-home mom. This is the primary, ongoing scope of the role.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

       Full care of 18-month-old toddler - activities, developmental engagement, outings, meals, and daily routine
       Premature newborn care for twin girls following NICU discharge - feeding support, bottle preparation, diaper changes, sleep routine establishment
       Breastfeeding support assistance
       Monitoring and care awareness for NICU graduates - feeding logs, adjusted age milestone awareness, weight tracking support, and recognition of common NICU graduate concerns
       Collaborative childcare support alongside stay-at-home mom
       Light child-related housekeeping - tidying, meal cleanup, children's laundry
       Driving support for outings and family activities
       Daily communication logs and photo/video updates for the family

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

       Infant CPR and First Aid certified - required
       COVID-19 and annual flu vaccination - required
       Valid driver's license and clean driving record - required
       Demonstrated comfort and experience caring for three or more children simultaneously - required
       Strong experience with newborns and infant care routines - required
       Minimum 1-2 year commitment - required
       Background check cleared - required

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

       Newborn Care Specialist (NCS) certification - strongly preferred
       NICU experience - strongly preferred; direct NICU nursing, NICU discharge support, or private home care of NICU graduates
       Nursing background - RN, LPN, CNA, or nursing student with clinical hours strongly considered
       Multiples experience - twins or triplets, particularly premature or medically complex infants
       Premature infant care knowledge - adjusted age milestones, feeding protocols for preemies, monitoring for NICU graduate concerns
       Experience working alongside a stay-at-home parent
       Swimming ability - strongly preferred
       Warm, flexible, calm, and collaborative temperament - essential
