Description:
The Cardiac RNFA I works under the direction and supervision of the attending physician.
This role provides aid in exposure, hemostasis, closure, and other intraoperative technical functions.
These functions help the surgeon carry out a safe operation with optimal results for the patient.
Performs preoperative and postoperative duties to facilitate the needs of the surgical patient during the perioperative period.
The RNFA I will primarily second assist within cardiac surgical cases.
The position includes regional call to support the cardiac surgery program.
Applies the nursing process in all facets of the nurse first assistant role.
Displays knowledge of anatomy and physiology while delivering safe patient care.
Establishes and maintains a safe perioperative environment.
Demonstrates proficiency in taking second call.
Possesses knowledge of advanced life support equipment.
High degree of hand/eye coordination and uniform mental attention is required.
