AMG Specialty Hospital- Albuquerque seeks a Full Time Infection Control Nurse/Educator (RN) who isa qualified individual with knowledge of CDC guidelines and definitions ofhealthcare associated infections (HAIs), federal and state regulations. He/She is responsible for the identification,investigation, reporting, prevention and control of healthcare associatedinfections (HAIs) among patients and personnel. By authority of the Infection Control Committee, she/he may institutecollection of cultures and initiate appropriate isolation precautions. She/He is responsible for assisting within-service programs related to infection prevention and control. Job Requirements
  • Requires a current RN license with BSNpreferred, OR Masters in Public Health (MPH), OR certified medicaltechnologist, OR a bachelor's degree in microbiology or epidemiology
  • Minimum three (3) year experience in asupervisory position in healthcare or one (1) to three (3) years in infectioncontrol.
  • Member of the Association ofPractitioners of Infection Control and Epidemiology and must complete APICtraining course or equivalent.
  • Working knowledge of microbiology,Epidemiology, infectious diseases, aseptic techniques and current practices.
  • Current CPR Certification and awillingness to renew.
  • Certification in Infection Control(CIC) is preferred.
