Job description

The Rivet Machine Operator is responsible for performing all types of machine riveting on such materials as canvas, leather, nylon web, cotton web, vulcanized fiber, Klein Kord and other materials. This position will produce products to include tool bags, leather and canvas pouches, fiber guards, harnesses, etc.

This position would help support our production facility in Fort Smith, AR during our 1st shift operations, working Monday-Friday from 5:45 AM CST until 4:15 PM CST.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Align and position parts against anvil to set rivets in products by pressing foot levers according to schematics.
  • Remain alert for inprocess product imperfections and bring them to the supervisor's attention.
  • Move work within the department after completion.
  • Setup rivet machines.
  • Exercise safety procedures to prevent injury to oneself and coworkers, and to prevent damage to equipment.
  • Read and check off daily safety operation procedures before starting the machine.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma is preferred, and two (2) years related work experience in a manufacturing environment is required.
  • Must possess knowledge of the different types of materials and their characteristics and flaws for qualityย acceptability.
  • Must possess knowledge using hand tools.
  • Demonstrate basic math, reading, writing and comprehension skills and strong communication skills.
  • Ability to work closely and effectively with all employees and management staff.

Physical Demand Requirements

Required to stand, walk or sit; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands andย arms; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move objectsย up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision,ย peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
