Riverside Medical Group is currently seeking a full-time Neurosurgeon to join our well-respected team at Riverside Hampton Roads Neurological and Spine Specialists in Newport News, Virginia.
We have one of the largest neurosurgery practices in the region and are proud to offer a comprehensive neurological and spine network to the communities we serve. Our commitment is to provide the right care, at the right time to our patients to enhance their well-being and improve their health. Our Riverside Care Difference reflects our commitment to quality, safety, and service.
We welcome candidates at all experience levels. Ideal candidates will have experience in high-volume, high-acuity settings. Our system includes 4 hospitals, a lifelong health division, and over 100 ambulatory practices. This recruited surgeon will practice at our largest hospital, Riverside Regional Medical Center.
Certification(s) and License(s):
  • Licensed Medical Doctor - State of Virginia
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible
  • Current DEA

Qualified Candidates:
  • Residency in Neurosurgery
  • Demonstrate strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
  • Collaborative approach with other physicians and APPs
  • Ability to provide guidance to other medical staff
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, busy environment

Clinical Services:
  • Spinal Fusions
  • Minimally Invasive Neurosurgery
  • Spine tumors or trauma
  • Spinal stenosis or deformity
  • Degenerative Conditions
  • Gamma Knife
  • Brain tumors or trauma
  • Stroke
  • Peripheral Nerve
  • DBS & MRI Focused U/S

Practice and Hospital Highlights
  • Call will be 1:6 with recruited physician
  • In-patient APP coverage 7 days/week
  • The only Level II Trauma Center in the Peninsula Region
  • 450 bed hospital
  • 2 (18) bed ICUs with a mix of neuro, surgical and medical specialties
  • 36 bed specialized Neuroscience Unit
  • 16 OR rooms, blocked neurosurgery time
  • Utilize advanced imaging technologies, including MRI, CT, O-Arm, C-arm and neuronavigational systems to enhance surgical precision.
  • Conduct minimally invasive surgeries using endoscopic and robotic- assisted techniques, ensuring optimal patient outcomes and faster recovery times.
  • The only Comprehensive Stroke Certified Hospital in the Peninsula Region
  • Position includes 2 ambulatory clinic locations
  • Neuroscience division has a large neurology department with fellowship training in vascular neurology, neuromuscular disorders, cognitive disorders, neuropsychology, headache, movement disorders and autonomic disorders.
  • PM&R physician in neurosurgery practice
