River Market Community Co-op is hiring a Part Time Cook!Experience-based pay ranging from: $18.80 - $20.11 per hourApproximately 16-24 hours/weekMust have availability to work evenings and weekends. Candidates without availability to work evenings and weekends will not be considered.Work for a community-owned grocery store in downtown Stillwater and help support a sustainable local food system. Ensure understanding of amounts and techniques to be used in preparation.Assess recipe batch sizes and prepare ingredients accordingly.Practice established safety and sanitation procedures for food handling and preparation.Utilize quick and efficient knife and cooking techniques in order to increase production.Manage oven and stove time, assist other staff as needed.Follow proper procedures in cleaning department areas and equipment.Recognize and inform supervisor of ingredient shortages and out of stocks.When preparations are completed, store unused ingredients, with attention to accurate labeling, dating and storing.Participate in kitchen-cleaning side work and inventory days as directed.Maintain accurate records as required.Ensure forward facing customer service.RequirementsAbility to multi-task, perform repeated bending, standing and reaching, and occasionally lifting up to 50 poundsMust have weekend and evening availabilityMust be 18 years old to operate the slicer machinePerforms basic arithmetic including counting, addition and subtractionExperience in food service like deli, catering, restaurantPreferred experience serving customersESSENTIAL PHYSICAL FUNCTIONS: Must be physically able to occasionally grasp, grip, pull, push, twist, and turn as needed.Constant (67-100%): Walking, standing, talking, hearing, correctible vision including near acuity and depth perceptionFrequent (34-66%): Bending, stooping, squatting, kneeling, lifting/carrying up to 25 pounds floor to waist, lifting/carrying up to 50 pounds floor to waistOccasional (1-33%): Working in refrigeration, pushing, pulling, lifting up to 100 pounds with assistance floor to waist, lifting/reaching waist to shoulder, lifting/reaching above the shoulderApproximately 5% of the time: Administrative duties & sitting
