Job description

Job Summary:

Guests of The Crooked River Lodge in Petoskey always know they can count on the cleanliness of our rooms, and our Housekeeping team gets all the kudos! As a member of our team, our Housekeepers' main focus is to work together to clean, restock, and maintain our hotel rooms based on our tried and true methods.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Receive list of assigned rooms from manager and prioritize rooms requesting early cleaning.
  • Check the inventory of cleaning cart and adds any necessary supplies.
  • Remove soiled linens, towels, bedspreads, and blankets from each assigned room and provide fresh replacements.
  • Neatly make beds and stock towels, washcloths, and hand towels according to policies.
  • Clean and disinfect bathroom and kitchenette or coffee-preparation areas according to hotel polices.
  • Wipe surfaces in room and cleans mirrors.
  • Vacuum floors and removes trash.
  • Check complimentary coffee, snack, and toiletry supplies in the room, restocking according to provided hotel checklist and policy.
  • Ensure room meets hotel standards with a final walkaround.
  • Notifie supervisor of room availability and report any suspicious activity.
  • Ensure soiled linens are laundered, which may include bagging and loading hotel linens into carts for delivery to launderer.
  • Notifie maintenance department of needed maintenance or repairs.
  • Take found items to designated lost and found area if guest has checked out.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Detail-oriented and thorough
  • Ability to remain discreet and respect the privacy of guests
  • Ability to perform consistent work to the highest of standards
  • Ability to interact with guests in a pleasant, friendly way

Education and Experience:

  • Sufficient education and literacy needed to identify and read product labels and to communicate with guests about job-related needs.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, understand, and communicate in basic English preferred.
  • Experience is preferred, but will train the right person

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods standing and walking and frequently pulling, pushing, and bending.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
  • Must be able to work weekends and holidays
