Job description

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Serves as a resource for state and university immunization requirements and answers questions from students and parents.

  • Management and oversight of Wellness Staff Assistants.

  • Oversees insurance information collection and utilization. Assists students and providers, including accepting payment for services, invoices/posts amounts in EMR, and makes follow-up appointments

  • Generates special reports/queries from EMR or other sources as requested.

  • Assists with cross-trained support functions as needed, including opening and closing of the health center and schedule management as required; ensures cross coverage of support functions in all areas of the department.

  • Serves as a coordinator for outreach efforts to students for illness prevention.

  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Knowledge of strategic planning and program development in wellness services

  • Knowledge of electronic health records

  • Skill in guiding and motivating a diverse team of wellness professionals

  • Skill in policy development and compliance management

This role is responsible for overseeing the individuals and processes that are crucial for ensuring timely care for RIT students and for maintaining efficient front-office operations.
