Summary

We are seeking qualified applicants for the position of Senior Specialist, Insurance & Risk Management located in Houston, TX.

The Senior Specialist, Insurance & Risk Management will focus on accountability for corporate risk mitigation, insurance procurement, and contractual compliance. This role serves as an advisor to internal stakeholders, ensuring risk transfer and optimized coverage across all corporate and project operations and agreements. The ideal candidate blends technical insurance expertise with a proactive approach to claims management, policy administration, and process improvement. This position is in-office, Monday through Friday.

General Description Duties & Responsibilities

  • Analyze contracts to identify risk exposures and gaps
  • Collaborate with internal teams to enforce proper risk transfer strategies
  • Support the annual marketing and placement of corporate insurance programs
  • Evaluate binders, policies, and endorsements for accuracy and compliance
  • Process policy invoices
  • Claim management and administration
  • Standardize departmental efficiency by creating formal processes and procedures
  • Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders

Qualifications

Required experience

  • 5+ years experience in Insurance & Risk Management
  • Experience working in or with fast-paced and high-growth companies
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multi-step workflows
  • Claims management (property, general liability, workers comp, auto, etc.)

Required Education

  • Bachelors or equivalent experience

Required Skills

  • Read, understand and analyze contract language with focus on risk and insurance clauses
  • Familiar with commercial insurance coverages
  • Broad understanding of commercial insurance contractual obligations and ability to identify non-compliance
  • Ability to read and understand Acord certificates of insurance
  • Ability to simultaneously manage multiple tasks and track requirements effectively
  • Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders at multiple levels
  • Strong problem solving abilities
