The Market Risk Manager implements the Market Risk Management Program and evaluates its effectiveness to avoid or reduce loss to the organization, collaborates with the other departments to develop and assure implementation of patient safety and high reliability initiatives. The Market Risk Manager acts as a resource for departments and all staff in addressing risk management issues.

REQUIRED EDUCATION:Bachelor's Degree in Patient Care Related field

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: 3 years direct patient care

PREFERRED CERTIFICATIONS/REGISTRATION:CPHRM or CPPS Certification

  • Expertise in corrective action planning, and patient safety risk mitigation.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.

  • Collaborate with quality, patient safety, accreditation and regulatory compliance, and clinical operations leaders to address risks and reduce loss to the organization
  • Serves as a liaison with attorney offices and assumes responsibility for review of legal documents, follow-up of legal issues and providing discovery information to attorney offices
  • Works collaboratively with stakeholders in the management of claims
  • Coordinates with attorneys for depositions for hospital personnel
  • Attends staff meetings, mediation and trials with our legal counsel
  • Reviews Legal Medical Record request and notifies the Legal team when applicable
  • Keeps Leadership informed of status of legal cases
  • Maintains current insurance documents, certifications and documents as required by federal, state regulations and system policies
  • Assumes responsibility for all maintenance of off-site records and access for others
  • Contributes and participates in team and individual efforts to improve the quality of service to include various hospital committees
  • Maintains knowledge of system policies and procedures
  • Participates with teams to review events and prepares reports for reporting; to include coordinating the state reporting
  • Utilizes resources efficiently and effectively
  • Maintains a safe environment
  • Participates in Performance Improvement activities
