Job description

Core Responsibilities

1. Provides risk guidance, oversight, and assurance services to divisional partners in alignment with the Vanguard's operational and strategic risk framework.

2. Leads and assists the business in the development, implementation and management of long-term risk management strategies in accordance with department goals and objectives, standard risk management policies and procedures, and the overall risk strategy.

3. Oversees the application of the risk management framework and methodology for global divisional stakeholders. Ensures the divisional risk tools align with global risk policies and allow for efficient risk monitoring, identification and reporting.

4. Influences divisional risk leaders and senior risk mangers to fully operate in alignment with risk methodologies and framework. Demonstrates thought leadership and subject matter expertise regarding divisional risk concerns and solutions.

5. Provides consultation and assists in facilitating divisional projects related to the enterprise risk framework.

6. Develops effective working relationships across Enterprise Risk Management and divisional boundaries to ensure focused and efficient enterprise support.

7. Develops and maintains broad knowledge and awareness of the investment industry, risk management practices, and regulatory and/or policy changes. Serves as a subject matter expert on risk management discussions.

8. Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

  • Minimum of eight years related work experience. Experience in risk management preferred.
  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of training and experience. Graduate degree preferred.
  • Professional Certification (CPA, CIA, CISI, MBA) preferred
