Position Summary: The Attraction Ride Attendant is responsible for operating and monitoring resort attractions and rides to ensure a safe, fun, and enjoyable experience for all guests. This position involves enforcing safety regulations, assisting guests with boarding and exiting rides, monitoring ride conditions, and maintaining a clean and welcoming environment. The ideal candidate is energetic, safety-conscious, and focused on delivering outstanding guest service


Key Responsibilities:

  • Ride Operation and Safety:
  • Operate rides and attractions in accordance with all safety and operational procedures.
  • Perform pre-opening safety checks to ensure all rides are functioning properly.
  • Ensure guests meet all height, weight, and health requirements before boarding.
  • Safely load and unload guests, providing clear instructions and assistance as needed.
  • Monitor guests during rides to ensure proper conduct and safety compliance.
  • Immediately report any ride malfunctions, hazards, or safety concerns to management.
  • Guest Service and Experience:
  • Provide excellent customer service by greeting guests warmly and answering questions about the attraction.
  • Maintain a friendly, energetic, and approachable attitude at all times.
  • Handle guest concerns or complaints professionally and promptly.
  • Contribute to a positive guest experience by ensuring efficient ride operation and minimal wait times.
  • Safety and Emergency Response:
  • Remain alert and focused to identify and respond to unsafe behavior or emergency situations quickly.
  • Follow all emergency and evacuation procedures.
  • Administer basic first aid or CPR if trained and when necessary until further help arrives.
  • Ensure all guests adhere to safety rules and resort policies while on or near rides.
  • Facility Maintenance and Cleanliness:
  • Keep the ride area, queue lines, and surrounding spaces clean, organized, and free of hazards.
  • Perform light cleaning and sanitization of attraction surfaces and equipment between rides as needed.
  • Report maintenance or cleanliness issues to supervisors immediately.
  • Communication and Teamwork:
  • Communicate clearly with other attendants and supervisors to ensure efficient ride operations.
  • Coordinate with maintenance, safety, and guest services teams as needed.
  • Participate in pre-shift meetings and training sessions to stay updated on safety policies and operational changes.
  • Operational Support:
  • Assist with crowd control and line management to ensure orderly guest flow.
  • Support special events, group bookings, or private functions as directed.
  • Assist in the setup or breakdown of attractions for daily operations or special events.

Requirements

Qualifications:

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).

Experience:

  • Previous experience in a theme park, water park, or attractions environment preferred.
  • Experience in customer service, hospitality, or recreation strongly preferred.

Skills:

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to guest safety.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure or during emergency situations.
  • Positive attitude, reliability, and strong teamwork abilities.
  • Comfortable working outdoors and engaging with large groups of people.

Certifications:

  • CPR and First Aid certification (preferred; required for some attractions).
  • Ride operation and safety training will be provided by the resort.


Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand for long periods, walk, bend, stoop, and lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to climb steps, operate ride controls, and assist guests with boarding and exiting rides.
  • Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions (heat, humidity, rain, cold etc.).
  • Ability to remain alert and focused for extended periods.


Work Environment:

  • Work is performed primarily outdoors in and around attractions and ride areas.
  • Exposure to varying temperatures, noise, and crowds is expected.
  • Must be available to work flexible hours, including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
