Job description

Position: School Bus Aide

Pay: $15.45 per hour

Job Type: Part-time or full-time

Shift: Morning and afternoon split shifts, Monday through Friday, following the school schedule. Additional hours as needed.

As a School Bus Aide, you will be responsible for supporting the safe and orderly transportation of students to and from school. This role is vital in ensuring the well-being of students during their bus ride by providing supervision, assistance, and a caring presence.
Duties:
  • Assist students with boarding and exiting the bus safely.
  • Ensure all students are seated and using seat belts or safety restraints when required.
  • Provide support to students with special needs, including securing mobility devices and offering additional assistance as needed.
  • Monitor student behavior and help maintain a safe, respectful environment on the bus.
  • Communicate concerns or incidents promptly to the bus driver or school administration.
  • Offer reassurance and comfort to students during the ride.
  • Assist during emergency procedures, including evacuations if necessary.
  • Follow all district and transportation safety protocols.
Skills:
  • Experience working with children preferred but not required.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with patience and empathy.
  • Ability to remain calm and handle situations under pressure.
