Job description

1099 - Licensed Clinical Therapist - RI
TimelyCare is a clinically accountable virtual care provider built specifically for education. Trusted by nearly 500 campuses across the U.S., TimelyCare combines URAC-accredited clinical standards with a measurement-based approach and a partnership-first model to help institutions champion well-being with clarity, accountability, and real-world impact. Through a seamless, easy-to-access platform, TimelyCare offers a comprehensive range of services, including a crisis line, mental health counseling, on-demand emotional support, medical care, psychiatric care, health coaching, success coaching, basic needs assistance, faculty and staff guidance, peer support, and self-guided wellness tools. TimelyCare drives clinically validated improvements in depression and anxiety, supporting healthier learning environments.
The Role:
We are currently looking to contract with 1099 therapists, clinically licensed in Rhode Island, who would provide therapy and support to the clients (students) who use the TimelyCare platform.
Mental Health Counseling is part of a broad range of TimelyCare's digital health services that are extended to members of higher education, primarily college students. As a licensed clinical therapist with TimelyCare, you will offer therapy for the students we serve, partnering with them to identify their needs, collaborate and develop treatment plans, and guide them, when necessary, to other appropriate TimelyCare services (Medical, Psychiatry, etc.).
We have a mental health team that consists of Licensed Clinical Social Workers (LI/CSW), Professional Counselors (LPC/LMHC), Marriage and Family Therapists (LMFT), and Clinical Psychologists (LP/LCP).

  • Active State License in RI, additional state licensures a plus
  • Strong clinical documentation, assessment, and active listening skills
  • Experience with crisis intervention/deescalation and safety/treatment planning
  • Background in providing services to young adults, adolescents, at risk populations, and/or experience working in community mental health, crisis triage, or a college counseling environment

What Our Contracted Therapists Do:
  • Provide therapeutic counseling services and treatment planning to a primarily young adult population
  • Document concurrently and submit HIPAA compliant documentation using TimelyCare's electronic health record
  • Develop and submit treatment plans and progress notes following each session
  • Communicate cross functionally with other teams/departments in order to support care continuation as needed
  • Adhere to established standards for documentation quality and code of ethics

Expectations for Contracted Services:
  • Work with the student/client to establish and develop treatment goals and document accordingly
  • Utilize active listening skills and evidence based modalities (SFBT, CBT, DBT, MI, ACT) in order to build rapport, establish boundaries, and progress student/client care
  • Submit appropriate documentation in the EHR (the TimelyCare platform) in a punctual manner
  • Prepared to adapt to the changing needs of the population we serve
  • Able to remain calm and maintain composure during a potential high stress scenario
  • Respond with empathy, professionalism, and meet clients where they are at
  • Model respectful conduct with all students, peers, and support staff

Highlights of Contracted Services:
  • Timely: Expected session time is 45 - 50 minutes, with the time remaining for documentation (60 minutes total)
  • Bye bye, burnout: Provide remote care from the convenience of your home or professional office space while maintaining a healthy work/life balance.
  • Hassle free: Don't worry about reimbursement, billing codes, or insurance credentialing. TimelyCare does not work with insurance providers and partners directly with colleges and universities across the country. Students can utilize TimelyCare's services without the inconvenience of insurance or costly co-pays.
  • Therapist autonomy: Flexible hours that work for you. Independent, contracted therapists can set their own schedule for any time Monday - Sunday.
