Job Purpose

The receiving clerk keeps track of and checks in on incoming shipments to ensure inventory doesn't get lost in transport. They also track and inventory outgoing goods and communicates with coworkers, line supervisors, and partners in a professional manner in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.


Duties & Responsibilities

Collaborate with procurement staff to list expected deliveries

Receive shipments and sign paperwork upon receipt

Unload packages from incoming trucks

Inspect contents to ensure they are undamaged

Verify packages according to order and invoices (quantity, quality, price etc.)

Contact supplier or shipper if a mistake is identified

Assume responsibility for returning unsatisfactory shipments or receiving replacements

Label deliveries and allocate them to their designated place

Ensure invoices are signed and paid for satisfactory deliveries

Maintain accurate records and assist in inventory control

Requirements

Qualifications

Strong ability to follow processes and attention to detail.

Ability to work with little supervision and with limited team interaction.

Proven experience as receiving clerk or similar position


Skills & Personal characteristics

Excellent written and verbal communication

Working knowledge of computer programs for entering data

Basic math and recording abilities

Excellent organizational skills

Keen eye for detail

Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
