Job description

Job Summary:
Hippocratic AI is the leading generative AI company in healthcare, focused on transforming patient outcomes through safe and autonomous clinical conversations. The Integration Engineer will bridge healthcare data systems with the clinical AI platform, working on interoperability, system design, and data engineering to connect EHRs, APIs, and analytics pipelines.
Responsibilities:
• Design, build, and maintain healthcare data integrations using Python, HL7 v2, FHIR, REST APIs, and SQL.
• Collaborate with product and delivery teams to translate requirements into scalable, testable integration flows.
• Coordinate with offshore teams on implementation, review, and QA.
• Monitor and optimize performance across live integrations, identifying and resolving bottlenecks.
• Contribute to reusable components and integration templates that improve delivery efficiency.
• Troubleshoot production issues, lead root-cause analysis, and ensure smooth resolution.
Qualifications:
Required:
• BS in Computer Science or equivalent
• 5+ years of experience in healthcare integration or interoperability engineering.
• Strong understanding of HL7 v2, FHIR, and X12 standards.
• Hands-on experience with Python and at least one integration engine (Mirth, Rhapsody, InterSystems IRIS, or Redox).
• Comfortable working with RESTful APIs, JSON, and SQL.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills across technical and non-technical teams.
• Strong ownership mindset with attention to reliability, scalability, and quality
Preferred:
• Familiarity with EHR APIs (Epic, Cerner, AthenaOne, or similar).
• Knowledge of FHIR bulk data workflows.
• Experience with CI/CD, containerization (Docker), or cloud-based deployment pipelines.
• Background in AI/ML data pipelines or healthcare analytics.
