Job description

Imagine what you can do here. Apple is a place where extraordinary people gather to do their lives best work. Together we create products and experiences people once couldn't have imagined, and now, can't imagine living without. It's the diversity of those people and their ideas that inspires the innovation that runs through everything we do.
Description
APPLE INC has the following available in San Diego, California. Design iPhone display modules and investigate the best optical and display technologies with expertise in the following fields: optical design and characterization, optical and/or human visual physics, semiconductor optoelectronics, display technologies, optical sensor technologies, and circuits. Own internal, multi-functional teams across optical, electrical engineering (EE), mechanical engineering (ME), process and panel design experts, directly manage display suppliers as the primary technical point of contact, and oversee manufacturing, assembly, or fabrication processes. Define the display module specifications and characterization metrics for new iPhone projects. Define and implement validation plans for characterizing optical components/modules/systems. Develop new display testing methods and review test results and data from the display vendors, system OEMs, and multi-functional groups at Apple to ensure the performance specifications are met. Build prototypes and integrate the key SW/HW components, to conduct critical validations and experiments to prove the system design from engineering build to mass production. Identify all open engineering issues, lead cross-functional teams for failure analysis and FMECA, and drive them to closure with efficiency to support project needs. Software programming for data acquisition and HW control with Python, LabVIEW, VISA, scripting for statistical analysis with JMP, MATLAB, Mathematica, and conducting optical simulation with Zemax, Solidworks. Perform hands-on characterization of electro-optical performance of display modules with design of experiment, using bench-top and industry-standard optical measurement systems for characterization, test, and validation. Support the product through the engineering development, mass-production ramp-up, and launch. 40 hours/week. At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role.
