Our network engineering team keeps us ahead of the competition. As a Summer Intern, you’ll be redesigning mature network areas to minimize capacity constraints and improve SINR while working with other areas of network to ensure performance fixes and initiatives are in place. You’ll play a key role in making sure our customers continue to enjoy the crystal-clear connections and top-notch call performance that we’re known for.

This is a full-time Summer Internship opportunity. The duration will be approximately 12 weeks.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following, other duties may be assigned:

  • Managing search area issuance, candidate assessment, and approvals.
  • Partnering with System Performance to improve various network KPIs.
  • Using internal tools to process regulatory compliance.
  • Working on new cell sites, making sure the site is properly integrated into the network and optimized for peak performance.
  • Performing Macro/Small Cell design/In Building design, including antenna selection and placement.
  • Using knowledge of GSM, LTE, CDMA 1x, EVDO and microwave to contribute to network design.
  • In addition:
  • Preparing timely FCC/FAA and FAS submissions.
  • Conducting data analysis of switch statistics and drive data by conducting drive testing for potential sites, new site integration, and system optimization.
  • Performing radio engineering evaluation for system planning and site acquisition.
  • Use RF propagation and planning tools.
  • Conducting and overseeing field tests for potential sites.
  • Planning near term integration of new technologies for first applications in the network.
  • Redesign of mature network areas to maximize performance and minimize capacity constraints.
  • Identifying causes of RF interference and troubleshooting interference problems with system performance.
