Job Brief
Kable Workforce Solutions is hiring a Rework Solderer for our client. This job is responsible for performing soldering, repair, and rework of printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs) in a manufacturing environment. This role requires attention to detail, the ability to interpret assembly documentation, and adherence to IPC quality standards to ensure reliable and accurate electronic assemblies.
What’s a Typical Day Like?
  • Perform soldering and rework on printed circuit board assemblies following IPC standards.
  • Demonstrate a basic understanding of IPC-A-610 Class 2 workmanship standards.
  • Demonstrate a basic understanding of IPC-7711/7721 repair and rework standards.
  • Perform difficult soldering and component rework processes as required.
  • Assist with production soldering activities when needed.
  • Identify and verify component values, polarity, and orientation for thru-hole components including capacitors, resistors, transistors, ICs, and similar electronic parts.
  • Identify component orientation and polarity in relation to printed circuit boards.
  • Read and interpret assembly drawings, schematics, and Bills of Materials (BOMs).
  • Utilize customer part numbers and assembly documentation to complete product builds accurately.
  • Use assembly tools and equipment including hot glue, masking, clipping tools, and related production equipment.
  • Communicate damaged, defective, or scrapped materials to the Cell Lead, Production Manager, and Quality Manager.
  • Maintain accuracy and quality throughout all production and rework processes.
  • Suggest process improvements and communicate concerns related to quality procedures.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
What Are the Requirements of the Job?
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Previous experience with production assembly or electronic soldering processes preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of IPC-A-610 Class 2 standards preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of IPC-7711/7721 repair and rework standards preferred.
  • Ability to read assembly drawings and Bills of Materials.
  • Strong manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
  • Ability to identify electronic components and verify proper placement and polarity.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Detail-oriented with strong focus on quality and accuracy.
  • Dependable, motivated, and able to work independently or within a team environment.
  • Work performed in a manufacturing environment with frequent interaction with team members.
  • Requires prolonged sitting and standing.
  • Frequent bending, stooping, and stretching required.
  • Manual dexterity required for handling and placement of small electronic components.
  • Good vision required for identifying components and inspecting solder work.
