Whether you're building smarter solutions, supporting customers, or creating a space where everyone belongs, you'll do meaningful work with Workmates who've got your back. In return, we'll give you the trust to take risks, the tools to grow, the skills to develop and the support of a company invested in you for the long haul. So, if you want to inspire a brighter work day for everyone, including yourself, you've found a match in Workday, and we hope to be a match for you too.

About the Team

The Finance Transformation Office (FTO) drives the modernization and optimization of Workday's global finance function. At the heart of this effort is the Transformation Excellence team-responsible for leading enterprise-wide transformation governance, strategic portfolio oversight, and execution excellence across the Finance organization. By establishing effective portfolio governance and processes, this team helps ensure that Workday's most critical initiatives are aligned to strategy, delivered with discipline, and continuously improved through world-class program management practices.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Principal Portfolio & Delivery Lead to join the team. The ideal candidate is an enthusiastic self-starter and proactive problem-solver who is capable of managing projects across multiple Finance functions (AR, RevOps), collaborating with cross-functional teams (IT, Product), driving standardization and communicating with executive stakeholders. This is a great opportunity to drive innovation, maturity and standardization across Workday!

Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Portfolio Governance: Own the Order to Cash (O2C) strategic initiative portfolio, including prioritization, sequencing, and value realization.

  • Standard & Processes: Establish portfolio management standards, metrics, and reporting that provide transparency into progress, risk, and outcomes.

  • Cross-Functional Leadership: Act as a critical bridge between Finance, IT, and Product to align technology roadmaps with corporate finance plans.

  • Value Realization & ROI Tracking: Move beyond project delivery metrics to measure actual business value. Design metrics and dashboards to track pre- and post-implementation financial performance (ROI, NPV, IRR).

About You

Required Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in corporate finance, financial portfolio management, strategic planning, or management consulting-ideally within a fast-growing SaaS or enterprise software environment.

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline such as Business, Engineering, or a related discipline; a Master's degree preferred or equivalent practical experience.

  • Strong foundational knowledge of ASC 606 (Revenue from Contracts with Customers) and its operational impacts on billing architectures and financial systems portfolio prioritization

Other Qualifications:

  • Experience leading enterprise transformation initiatives at scale.

  • Proven success establishing portfolio governance and PMO frameworks, including resource capacity modeling to better optimize supply and demand.

  • Demonstrated ability to bridge the gap between upstream commercial teams (Sales Operations, Legal, pricing committees) and downstream finance functions to ensure system changes don't disrupt the revenue pipeline.

  • Forward-thinking ability to identify and execute AI/ML automation opportunities within both the portfolio and O2C spaces.

  • Understanding of internal controls and SOX compliance as they relate to automated billing systems and data integrity across the cash lifecycle.

  • Strong executive presence with the ability to influence VP and C-suite stakeholders.

Our Approach to Flexible Work

With Flex Work, we're combining the best of both worlds: in-person time and remote. Our approach enables our teams to deepen connections, maintain a strong community, and do their best work. We know that flexibility can take shape in many ways, so rather than a number of required days in-office each week, we simply spend at least half (50%) of our time each quarter in the office or in the field with our customers, prospects, and partners (depending on role). This means you'll have the freedom to create a flexible schedule that caters to your business, team, and personal needs, while being intentional to make the most of time spent together. Those in our remote "home office" roles also have the opportunity to come together in our offices for important moments that matter.

Pursuant to applicable Fair Chance law, Workday will consider for employment qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records.

Workday is an Equal Opportunity Employer including individuals with disabilities and protected veterans.

Workday is committed to providing reasonable accommodations for qualified individuals during our application process, in order to perform one or more essential functions of their job, as well as regarding the use of AI tools for employment decision-making to any degree.
