IT Initiatives, Inc. is a technology consulting firm specializing in integrated ELV and ICT solutions for senior living communities. We design and implement advanced systems that enhance safety, security, and connectivity for residents and staff.
Position Overview

We are seeking a Licensed Electrical Engineer with a strong focus on Extra Low Voltage (ELV) systems. This role involves designing, specifying, and managing the procurement and commissioning of ELV systems for senior living clients. The engineer will prepare comprehensive RFPs and specifications, collaborate with CAD/Revit operators, and sign and seal project drawings.
Key Responsibilities

  • System Design & Specification
    • Develop detailed designs and technical specifications for ELV systems, including: 
      • Access Control (Assa Abloy and Allegion-based door hardware)
      • Video Surveillance (CCTV)
      • Intercom Systems
      • Nurse Call Systems
      • Elopement Control
      • Fall Prevention Technologies
      • Structured Cabling Infrastructure
      • Emergency Communication Systems
  • Ensure compliance with local codes, standards, and licensing requirements.
  • Collaboration
    • Work closely with CAD/Revit operators to identify project requirements and ensure accurate documentation.
    • Coordinate with architects, IT teams, and construction managers.
  • RFP Development & Bid Management
    • Prepare comprehensive Request for Proposal (RFP) documents and technical specifications.
    • Evaluate vendor proposals and assist clients in selecting qualified contractors.
  • Commissioning & Quality Assurance
    • Oversee system installation and commissioning to ensure adherence to design specifications.
    • Conduct site inspections and verify system performance.
  • Professional Responsibility
    • Sign and seal project drawings as required by state regulations.
Qualifications

  • Required:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
    • Valid Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent state-recognized electrical engineering license.
