Your role will include building and managing relationships with internal/external teams and contractors while providing design and consulting services that are needed by facility managers and Owners. The types of projects that you will work on will include:

As an Electrical Revit/CAD Designer you will be required to:
  • Demonstrate a high standard of professionalism and client focus on customer service.
  • Be resourceful and flexible while effectively handling multiple tasks.
  • Have strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Are able to work in a collaborate atmosphere with both internal and external team members.
  • Listen and understand the needs of the project and independently provide value by evaluating options based upon the project's needs and desires, first cost, life cycle cost, and energy usage.
  • Provide timely services that meet the needs of the clients and the overall project schedule requirements.

Specifically, you will be required to:
  • Work with Engineers to efficiently produce project 3-D Revit models and construction documents.
  • Back check your own work to ensure accuracy.
  • Implement and utilize project specific drawing standards.
  • Coordinate your work with other Revit/CAD techs working in other design disciplines.
  • Follow Salas O'Brien office CAD standards.
  • Communicate your design recommendations to the project team and construction contractors and vendors in presentations and meetings, via email and phone as necessary.
  • Work on a project team with other MEP staff to design and detail the MEP systems that are needed, ensuring that the work is accurate and coordinated and that the quality assurance measures have been followed.

Requirements and Preferences:
  • Applicants should have a minimum of an associate's degree in technical drawing or related field, or a minimum of 4 years of related trade experience.
  • Knowledge of drafting techniques.
  • Efficient and accurate drafting with adherence to BIM Standards.
  • High level of proficiency in REVIT design software with some CAD knowledge.
  • High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office Software.
  • Excellent time management skills and an extremely high level of attention to detail.

The Physical and Ergonomic Requirements of this position are as follows:
  • Lifting/carrying: Carrying light loads related to field measurement equipment, equipment cases weighing 15 lbs. or less.
  • Dexterity: Ability to type using a keyboard with relative efficiency, ability to make handwritten notes and sketches indoors and outdoors at industrial plants and construction sites at any time of the year.
  • Walking/Climbing: Ability to use multi-level stair towers and rung ladders unassisted.
  • Visual Acuity: Ability to discern single line and 3-dimensional computer images representing objects being designed or drafted.
  • Hearing: Ability to hear safety alarms and signals while wearing hearing protection.
  • Physical exertion: Ability to walk up to one mile on industrial plant and construction sites outdoors at any time of the year. Ability to work in protective clothing which may elevate body temperatures by several degrees Fahrenheit for periods of up to 15 minutes without a break.
  • Breathing: Ability to work while wearing a respirator or self-contained breathing apparatus.
