IGS is currently recruiting a remote Proposal Technical Writer to support our work.


Assignment of Work and Travel:

This is a remote access assignment. The Candidate will work remotely daily and will remotely access IGS systems and therein use approved IGS provided communications systems. Travel is not required; however, the candidate may be required to attend onsite client meetings as requested.


The Proposal Technical Writer will manage compliant, high quality proposal content by synthesizing technical, operational, and business inputs into clear, compelling narratives. The Proposal Technical Writer will collaborate closely with stakeholders, SMEs, and leadership to align responses with win strategies, themes, and discriminators while meeting strict solicitation requirements and deadlines and to deliver competitive and well-coordinated submissions.


Responsibilities and Duties (Included but not limited to):

  • Develop proposal content by assembling and integrating information including project nature, objectives/outcomes/deliverables, implementation, methods, timetable, staffing, budget, standards of performance, and evaluation
  • Ensures that sections developed are compliant with solicitation requirements and incorporate strategies, win themes, and discriminators
  • Interact with Business Units, Proposal Manager, Subject Matter Experts, and Teaming Partners to obtain content necessary to draft compelling proposal sections
  • Interview SMEs, consultants, capture managers, and other proposal team members to obtain information for proposals and then independently develop technically clear and compelling proposal content
  • Provide insight on proposal content and where we can emphasize or incorporate strengths and benefits to improve responses
  • Organize and carry out multiple tasks simultaneously under tight/changing deadlines
  • Participate in daily stand-up calls, on live bids, detailing status of the proposal sections for which the writer is responsible, and identify any issues or resource requirements
  • Participate "hands on" in all phases of the proposal development process including gate reviews, win strategy, win themes/discriminators, outlines and compliance matrices, color reviews, writing and editing, graphic design, desktop publishing, document production, and packaging and delivering
  • Participate in strategy/solutioning sessions to develop winning approaches
  • Assist in proposal graphic conceptualization and creation, as needed
  • Support drafting/development of technical, past performance, staffing plans, formatting of resumes, and management narratives for large scale, complex, strategic proposals
  • Prepare past performance questionnaires to be completed by customers
  • Support corporate writing and editing efforts as needed (marketing materials, website content, etc.)
  • Maintain and update SharePoint repositories with re-use content and past writing
  • Ensure proposal content is 508 compliant, when necessary
  • Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Business, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 5+ years of experience supporting federal proposal development (RFPs, RFIs)
  • Proven ability to develop compliant, quality proposal content that aligns with solicitation requirements, win strategies, and evaluation criteria
  • Strong experience collaborating with cross-functional teams, including Business Development, SMEs, and teaming partners to gather and synthesize technical content
  • Demonstrated ability to independently interview SMEs and translate complex technical concepts into clear, compelling written narratives
  • Experience supporting full proposal lifecycle activities, including solutioning, content development, color reviews, editing, and final production
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight, shifting deadlines and independently conduct research
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and collaboration tools such as SharePoint
  • Strong editing, proofreading, and attention-to-detail skills, including adherence to compliance requirements and formatting standards
  • Ability to contribute to proposal graphics, outlines, and compliance matrices is preferred
