Description
The Marketing & Fan Engagement Coordinator supports the development and execution of marketing initiatives designed to increase attendance, enhance the fan experience, and strengthen community engagement for Samford Athletics. This role assists with game-day operations, promotional activities, and digital marketing efforts to drive awareness and engagement.
Job Duties
  • Work with sponsorship to facilitate corporate sponsorship fulfillment and planning.
  • Work with ticketing to facilitate the group sales program for all ticketed sports. Work with ticketing group to cultivate current and past groups and new prospects to generate sales. Contact area businesses, youth organizations, and other large groups to promote the group ticket program.
  • Assist in creating, coordinating and executing marketing plans and initiatives for all sports to increase awareness, attendance, revenue and fan engagement for each athletic program as directed by the Associate AD for Marketing, Fan Engagement and Events.
  • Support community events to generate excitement and community engagement.
  • Create and develop promotional plans and giveaway strategies for all sports to maximize ticket sales, attendance, fan experience and fan engagement.
  • Serves as in-house producer for all home events. Determines how each in-game element is implemented, including sponsors and game day groups (promotions, music, public address announcer, entertainment, presentations, video, band, cheerleaders, dance and mascot).
  • Assist with the development of print advertisements, schedule cards, posters and other promotional and marketing collateral as needed.
  • Support campus marketing initiatives targeted to faculty, staff and the student body to maximize support.
  • Support the student intern program and game day staffing.
  • Coordination with the central university Marketing and Communication Division to assure consistency with university brand guidelines and overall university marketing strategies.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Minimum one (1) year of experience related to the above-described duties, to include Athletics Marketing and Promotions, Digital and social media, and/or Game Operations.
  • Must demonstrate strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Must have the ability to interface professionally with coaches, fans and University personnel.
  • Knowledge and understanding of various digital platforms to include social media and websites. Applicant should be highly organized and able to handle multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Prior experience working within a collegiate athletic department or professional sports team.
  • Experience working with Word, Excel, Photoshop and other design programs.
  • The position requires working evenings, weekends, occasional holidays and some travel in addition to daily office hours.
  • Must have the ability to lift, carry and operate various equipment of up to 15 pounds.
  • Possess a current, valid driver's license.
